Construction on the 11 Under Trails tunnels beneath major roads in Bella Vista continues. Crews will begin working on the third tunnel on Cullen Hills Drive the week of July 29.
A section of Cullen Hills Drive, immediately south of its intersection with Scalloway Drive, will be completely closed during the project, which is slated to take approximately four weeks. Motorists will be diverted on a designated detour along Scalloway Drive to Sherlock Drive during the closure.
The section of Highlands Blvd. will remain closed as well until that project is complete. Contractors are currently waiting on approval from the Arkansas Health Department following a waterline relocation and then will begin installing the tunnel, which is already assembled at the site.
The Cullen Hills Drive closure will coincide with the Highlands Blvd. closure to speed up the overall construction timeframe for all trail tunnels in the city.
