Andrew F. Buchl

Andrew F. Buchl, 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, in Rogers, Ark.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Harvey, N.D. He graduated from Rugby High School in 1948 and from St. John's University in 1952 before joining the U.S. Army to serve during the Korean War. He married Elaine Leintz on June 17, 1957. As entrepreneurs, they built Andrew's Steakhouse and Andy B. truck stop before taking over Buchl Implement and starting Rugby Manufacturing and Rugby Hydraulics. They moved to Bella Vista at retirement, where he stayed active in church, golf, travel, hunting and piano.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elaine Buchl; children, Jay (Renee) of Denver, Gregg (Laurie) of Loveland, Colo., Kurt (Jane) of Bozeman, Mont., Mark (Lisa) of Santa Rosa, Calif., Andra of Loveland, and Mike (Jill) of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

A Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection were held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with military honors following.

Helen (Eileen) Gratzl

Helen (Eileen) Gratzl, 94, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Highlands Health and Rehabilitation, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Born July 25, 1924, in Ft. Lupton, Colorado, she was the daughter of Richard and Irene Schuyler.

She married Joseph Carl Gratzl in 1941 and they farmed near Greeley, Colorado, until buying a ranch near Siloam Springs in 1965, retiring to Bella Vista in 1979. Eileen was a devout Christian as well as an accomplished seamstress, artist and musician. She was involved in Home Demonstration Clubs, 4-H Leadership, community clubs and many church ministries. Helen and her late husband were also active in Gideons International. For many years, Eileen played the piano at Concordia Nursing Home's Wednesday devotions.

Besides Eileen's family and church, her favorite things included entertaining, playing table games with her friends, traveling and listening to gospel music. She was known as a sweet, kind and energetic woman who will be missed by her family and community.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died in 2001 after 60 years of marriage.

Survivors include three children, Joe and wife Donna of Bella Vista, Annetta Elgie and husband Tom of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Barbara Henderson and husband Jim of Siloam Springs; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Lyle and wife Jean of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lowell and wife Ellen of Brighton, Colorado.

Memorial services were held at Village Bible Church, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Arkansas, Monday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, Village Bible Church or Sager Creek Community Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Agnes 'Elaine' Hietbrink

Agnes "Elaine" Hietbrink, 87, died Sept. 5, 2018.

She was born to Henry A. and Bertha De Beer Jonker in Sanborn, Iowa, on Sept. 25, 1930. She graduated from Orange City, Iowa, High School in 1947. She married Bernard E. Hietbrink on March 16, 1951. She retired as an administrative secretary from the South Dakota Art Museum in 1992 and moved to Bella Vista in 1994. She enjoyed needlework, traveling and music. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Arthur (Carolyn).

Survivors include her husband, Bernard; four children, Deanne Jacobs, Beth (Charles) Curry, Laura (Ross) Rames, Bernard D. (Melissa) Hietbrink; nine grandchildren; brothers, Wilfred (Gertrude) and Terrance (Jan); and sister, Faye Pluim.

A memorial service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista under the direction of Pastor Dennis Ritchie on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista's music fund.

Betty Louise Paulsen

Betty Louise Paulsen, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sept. 5, 2018, at Highland Health and Rehabilitation.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Emerson; daughter, Marcia Walter (Carl) of St. Louis, Mo.; and one grandchild.

Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Bella Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor David Brown and Pastor Joe Baker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

Margaret Ann Powers

Margaret "Peggy" Ann Powers, 75, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Oct. 6, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo., to Gertrude and Marion Hartenbach. She worked in retail at Nordstrom and Dillards. She enjoyed decorating and gardening. She had lived in northwest Arkansas since April 2018 after moving from Springfield, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Powers (Jennifer) of Texas; two daughters, Michelle Searfoss of Bella Vista, Mimzie Wilinski (Steve) of Texas; one brother, Robert Hartenbach (Beverly) of Texas; the father of her children, Robert Powers of Bella Vista; and eight grandchildren.

Charlotte Cooper Deitrick Warnock Sidler

Charlotte Cooper Deitrick Warnock Sidler, 89, died Sept. 5, 2018.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1928, in Boston to Frederick Simpson Deitrick and Ethyle Mae Ansell. She graduated from Swampscott Massachusetts High School in 1946. She received degrees from Wellesley College, Northern Illinois University and Louis University, Chicago, and taught as a first grade specialist in Matterson, Ill., for 29 years. She moved to Bella Vista in 1992 and was a member of Highlands Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford M. Warnock; and sister, Louise Deitrick.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Sidler; two children, Mark (Karri) Warnock of Cottage Grove, Wis., and Caroline (Noel) Randy of Pardeeville, Wis.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Rosamond Dee of Salisbury, Conn., and Frederica Canoni of Washington, Conn.; and four stepchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren and their families.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Highlands Church.
