Monthly Movie Night will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, with a showing (part one) of Shirley MacLaine's "Out on a Limb." Revisit this 1987 controversial film covering her quest of self-discovery from Stockholm to Hawaii to Peru.
A new Wednesday night class is being offered which studies "The Yoga of Jesus" by Paramahansa Yogananda, followed by 15 minutes of meditation. Everyone is invited.
The annual food drive for the Salvation Army takes place at Walmart (Centerton) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.
Bella Vista Lutheran Church
On Oct. 31, "Trunk or Treat" will be at Bella Vista Lutheran Church from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be horseback riding, bounce houses, hot chocolate, popcorn and candy. This treat is offered to everyone in the community.
The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. With the holidays approaching, it is asking for 16-ounce cans of pumpkin, 14-ounce cans of condensed milk and 14-ounce cans of cranberry sauce. It is also collecting "Best Choice" PVC labels. Containers for donations are in the church narthex.
At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6,there will be a special worship service for those that are unable to attend a regular worship service. Following the service, a lunch will be served. Anyone needing transportation to this or any other worship service is asked to contact the church office at 479-855-0272.
Village Bible Church
Wednesday, Oct. 31, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of our friendly volunteers.
Pastor Mark Voll's sermon title this Sunday is "The Victorious Church, Thriving in Persecution" with a text of John 15:18-27
At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, the Ladies' Bible study titled "The Grace of God" led by Joanne Morris will continue. Women from the community are welcome to attend and a handout is provided each week. Just bring a Bible.
The 30th annual Cookie Walk will be held Saturday, Dec. 1. Doors open at 8 a.m.; the Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Cinnamon rolls, coffee, sweets and treats, soups to go and handmade crafts are available for purchase all morning. All proceeds support Highlands Church mission and ministry projects. Containers of cookies are $12 each.
Highlands Student Ministry meets Sunday evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and is seeking youth to join the group. This student ministry equips sixth- through 12th-gradee students to grow together on the journey to know, love and serve Jesus Christ. For more information, contact the church office at 479-855-2277.
Sunday, Nov. 4, features an invitation to ponder how the lives of ancestors have influenced lives and to reflect on ongoing relationship with them.
St. Bernard Catholic Church
St. Bernard Women's Club invites all to come to its holiday bazaar, "Over the River and Thru the Woods," from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. There will be handmade holiday crafts, handpainted items, centerpieces, table runners, farmhouse decor and homemade baked goods. There will be a raffle for a handmade queen-sized quilt and other items. Breakfast and lunch will be served. St. Bernard is located at 1 St. Bernard Lane in Bella Vista, just off Highway 340. All proceeds are donated to charity.
Bella Vista Community Church
BVCC will host A-MAZE-ING Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be a maze of exciting themed trunks. There will be plenty of candy along the way.
Christmas Tea tickets will be available to the public on Thursday, Nov. 1. Cost is $10. The Saturday, Dec. 1, tea seatings are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with entertainment by BVCC's Sanctuary Choir at 2 p.m.
