Bella Vista Baptist Church
The community is invited to share in the fun of Kids On Mission, a summer program for children ages three through sixth grade. The program runs every Wednesday, 6 to 7:45 p.m., May 23 through August 1.
Bella Vista Lutheran Church
On Saturday, May 19, there will be a "Rod and Custom Car Show" at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. This is the third annual Car Show, and it will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is invited.
St. Theodore's Episcopal Church
Saturday, May 19, Mayor Peter Christie and Police Chief James Graves will speak on church safety at 9:30 a.m. in Sengel Hall, lower level.
Sunday, May 20 is Pentecost, the birthday of the Christian Church. St. Theodore's invites everyone to celebrate at the 8 a.m. service to include a birthday brunch celebration at 9:15 a.m.
Saturday, May 26 is St. Theordore Volunteer Day at Helping Hands. The community is invited to lend a hand from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bella Vista Community Church
Newcomers' Orientation is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, in the parlor for anyone interested in learning more about the church.
Barry Lunney Sr., Arkansas Hall of Fame football coach, will speak at the Community Church at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 19. He will talk about his coaching career, work with prison ministry and his work as the northwest Arkansas interim director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Lunny went 248-90 during his 28-year coaching career, including a 97-25 run with the Bentonville Tigers. Bentonville won four of its five state championships under Lunney. He also led Southside to four state titles. Coach Lunney is recognized as one of the most successful high school football coaches in Arkansas. He is a man of great character, high standards, compassion and dedication to preparing young men for not only Friday night football success but also success in life. The Bella Vista Police Department hosts the U.S. Attorney for Western Arkansas, Duane Kees, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the sanctuary. The free workshop topic is "Fraud."
Summer Arts Camp is Monday-Friday, June 18-22, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for kids entering grades 1 through 6. Brochures and registration forms are available in the church office, or register online at bvcc.net.
Village Bible Church
Pastor Mark Voll will continue his "The Gospel of Mark!" sermon series. This Sunday's sermon is titled "Jesus Christ: Crucified, Risen and Coming Again," with a text of Mark 13:1-36.
Wednesday, May 16, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of the church's friendly volunteers
Highland Christian Church (Diciples of Christ)
All former Kansas residents are welcome to attend The Sunflower Club meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 21. There will be a $3 charge for pizza and drink. Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista
The Chamber Singers of the University of the Ozarks will present a concert entitled, "Songs of the Sea," at 3 p.m. Friday, May 18, in the PCBV sanctuary. The concert is the final performance of the choir's spring tour, which includes five performances at churches in Northwest Arkansas, Kansas City and Springfield, Mo. Under the direction of assistant professor of music and choral conductor, Jonathan Ledger, the concert will feature a wide variety of choral repertoire from all style periods that relate to themes of the sea.
