Sunday Book Review

It's a new season and that means it's time for another Sunday Book Review -- The 2018 Spring review will be on the book "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles. Marianne Farner will present her review of this book at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15. Light refreshments will be served.

George Washington Carver National Monument

A representative from the George Washington Carver National Monument will be at the Bella Vista Public Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19. Learn about the life and history of George Washington Carver and the monument in his honor.

Teen Night -- Writing Workshop

Author Erin Rowe will lead teens in exercises at 6 p.m. Friday, April 20, to help expand their writing abilities and hone their creative skills. Ages 11-17 are invited to learn some tips and tricks to assist their writing process.

Local Author Showcase

Support local artists! Stop by the Bella Vista Public Library's Local Author Showcase from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 21. This event will be filled with local authors who want to share their works with the public. Meet new people, find new books and connect with authors who live right here in Northwest Arkansas.

Library Expansion Presentation

Every day, library customers ask the status of the expansion project of the library. The president of the Bella Vista Public Library Foundation will be here at 6 p.m. Monday, April 23, to discuss where the expansion project is currently, what fundraising still needs to be done, and provide information on what the expansion will encompass.

John Denver Tribute Concert

The Highland Christian Church is hosting a benefit concert for the Bella Vista Public Library, Village House and the Highland Christian Church. Branson sensation James Garrett will be performing his John Denver tribute concert at the Highland Christian Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase at the library.

Friends of the Library Quilt Raffle

The Friends of the Library is holding a quilt raffle. This quilt is displayed at the Library and is machine-constructed, hand-quilted, 66 inches by 66 inches with a pattern called "Barn Raising" Log Cabin. The drawing will be held at the Bella Vista Library at 2 p.m. on April 28. Winner need not be present to win. Tickets are available at the membership desk in the library at $1 each or six for $5. All proceeds of this fundraiser go to the Friends of the Library.

Friends of the Library, Encore!

The Friends of the Library's used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours. Everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics, and much, much more are available. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

To coincide with Bella Vista's citywide garage sale, the Friends of the Library will hold a half-price sale on the Encore! used book section of the Library. Everything will be marked half off the already low prices. The dates of this half-price sale are April 23-28.

Exhibits

April's displays are provided by the Bella Vista Photography Club and Susan Coley. Anyone interested in displaying a collection should contact Rebecca at 479-855-1753.

Floral Arrangement

April's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Deloris Jennings of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Hours of Operation:

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
