Special To The Weekly Vista

Simple Pleasures Event Center is dedicating their largest facility and one day a week to Bella Vista card and game players.

"Fifteen passionate members of card-playing groups met with me and explained their frustration finding a regular facility to play cards and socialize," explained Ken Miner, Simple Pleasures' founder. "They explained their need for a facility that is comfortable, economical and welcoming to their groups."

Miner, his wife Elaine and event director Tara Hammerstrom decided to welcome these groups to Simple Pleasures as a service to Bella Vista residents.

"Community service rather than profit is the motivation for me," explained Hammerstrom. "We have the facility, parking, handicap access, tables and desire to provide comfortable affordable space for these groups."

Simple Pleasures is dedicating each Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to all card players. Players can bring their own lunch or enjoy Simple Pleasures' oak-fired cheeseburger meal for $10. Tables are available for $5 for the day. The service begins Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Simple Pleasures is located in the Bella Vista Highlands at 14718 Rothbury Drive.

Groups interested can call 479-876 5959 for their reservations, questions and ideas.
