Bella Vista Baptist

Bella Vista Baptist is a multigenerational church with weekly activities for children and adults.

Sunday: Contemporary worship 8:30 a.m.; Bible study and Sunday school 9:45 a.m.; Traditional worship 11 a.m.; evening service 5 p.m.

Men's Prayer Breakfast meets every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The book of Leviticus is the current study.

The Senior Adult Ministries ice cream and movie is the fourth Friday of the month, at 6:30 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church

Sunday worship is at 9:30 a.m., with coffee fellowship before and after the service. Pastor Jeff Reed will be preaching Sunday, Dec. 17. A staffed nursery is available, as well as children's worship for ages 4-12.

Caregivers (all) Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the parlor.

Youth will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, for pizza and Bible study.

Newcomer's Orientation is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the parlor.

The Bella Vista Community Band's Christmas concert is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in the sanctuary, beginning with a reception at 2 p.m.

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service is Sunday, Dec. 24, during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

Prayer Fellowship meets at 9:15 a.m. every Wednesday in the conference room.

Parish nurses are available every Wednesday in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Celebration Choir and Orchestra will present a Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, with a reception immediately following.

Advent services are at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 and Dec. 20.

All are welcome to "Saturday Ignite," a casual setting with a free meal and a service that includes modern music with an edge. Start time is 5 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is collecting items to be given for the holidays. Monetary donations are always welcome. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Forest Hills Church is an American Baptist Congregation.

Morning worship is at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Adult Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m., and weekly Prayer and Bible Study meets at 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

Resident guest pastor, Mark Kirby, will deliver the sermon, "Christmas Tragedies," from 1 John 4:7-16, on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) meets for worship with communion at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school classes start at 9 a.m., offering three adult studies and "Creative Worship" for youth. Coffee fellowship is 10 to 10:30.

Choir practice is every Wednesday at 4 p.m. New members welcome.

Vivian Keller will host Bible Study at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Highlands Student Ministry for middle-school and high-school students is held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays.

Two adult Sunday school classes meet every Sunday at 8:15 in the John classroom and 9:30 a.m. in the Mark classroom.

There will be four Christmas Eve Services, including communion and candle lighting. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23; Traditional at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24; Contemporary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24; Lessons and carols at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

The next blood drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, and is organized by the HUMMERS (Highlands United Methodist Men). Photo ID required. Eat well and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.

Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The church Mission Committee has 12 cleanup buckets ready to send to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance at Ferncliff Conference Center. This makes a total of 54 flood buckets filled this year.

All women are invited to the Ladies' Birthday Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Papa Mike's. Sign up in the Information Center.

The Chancel Choir and Chancel Bells will present a Christmas Choral Program during the 10 a.m. worship on Sunday, Dec. 17. Christian education classes for all ages meet at 8:30 a.m. A nursery attendant is available.

Peanut butter (creamy or chunky) is the focus for the Helping Hands Food Pantry in December. Donations will be collected through Dec. 17.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church

The rosary is said before Saturday night Mass at 4:25 p.m. and before Sunday morning Mass at 8:25 a.m.

Daily morning Mass is celebrated Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. There is an evening Mass celebrated on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. Mass is celebrated every Saturday at 5 p.m. and every Sunday at 9 a.m.

Get Ready for the Gospel meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Thursday in classroom 205. Anyone interested in gaining an understanding of the upcoming readings of Sunday's Mass is welcome.

Caring Friends, Grief Share Seminar is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in room 205.

In observance of advent for four weeks and honoring faith, peace, love and joy, the Dec 17 service will be presented by Rev. Elise Cowan with a title of "It's A Wonderful Life." Refreshments are served after the service.

The church is in need of Christmas wrapping paper for the Children's Advocacy Center to wrap the 10 gifts for each child.

Intenders discussion meets every Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Intenders circle begins with a 15-minute meditation, followed by a discussion to help draw awareness to gratefulness and recognition of the want in future experience.

Village Bible Church, an Evangelical Free church, is a church for all ages. Mark Voll is the pastor.

Wednesday, Dec. 13 activities -- The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of the friendly volunteers. A potluck fellowship dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The community is always welcome. At 6:30 p.m., all are welcome to prayer, singing and devotions in the Worship Center. A nursery is available.

Friday, Dec. 15 -- Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Oasis Food Pantry Center.

Sunday, Dec. 17 -- Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m., followed by the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Pastor Mark Voll's sermon title will be "The Gift of a Sign," with a text of Luke 2:8-20. Nursery and Children's Church are offered.

Tuesday, Dec. 19 activities -- 7 p.m. men's Bible study on 2 Peter led by Pastor Mark Voll will meet in the fellowship hall. Ladies' KniTTogether ministry and White Cross Women's Mission ministry meet at 7 p.m. This informal fellowship works on projects that benefit needy children and adults in the area, as well as a hospital in Congo. Ladies from the community are welcome to these ministries.
