Historical Society selling 100th anniversary calendars

From Staff Reports

To kick off the 100th anniversary of the 1917 opening of the Lake Bella Vista Summer Resort by the Linebarger Brothers, the Bella Vista Historical Society is now selling 2017 calendars as a fundraiser for the Bella Vista Historical Museum. Calendars are $5 each. The calendars are 5 inches by 7 inches -- just right to fit into a small wall space in your kitchen or office.

Each month features a photo taken by Lillian Green that was published as a magazine cover during the decade of 1942-1952. Lillian, whose bio is on the back of the calendar, was secretary to C.A. Linebarger for many years and a self-taught, very successful photographer.

The Historical Society would like to thank the Green family for permission to publish these photos and board member Karin Fowler who coordinated the project.

The calendar is expected to sell out fast, so stop by and pick up yours now at the museum, which is open Wednesdays through Sundays, noon to 4 p.m., at the corner of U.S. Highway 71 and Kingsland Road, next door to the American Legion.
