Home Instead Senior Care Provides Peace of Mind

Just as "it takes a village to raise a child", so it also takes a "village" to provide quality, dependable care for our senior citizens. Our senior loved ones comprise an ever-growing portion of the population. With that growth, there is increasing the need for all levels of senior care. For those who are actively independent, Northwest Arkansas provides breathtaking vistas and limitless amenities. There are several great options for those who prefer living in a senior community or choose an assisted living facility. There are also high-quality nursing homes in this area for those who need more intense supervision. And, of course, the hospice providers here are second to none in providing expert, compassionate end-of-days care.

But very often, as we age, there are just a few things we can no longer do for ourselves. Perhaps we just need help changing the bed linens or vacuuming the floor, preparing a meal, cleaning a bathtub, doing some shopping or going to the hairdresser. Possibly we need some assistance getting a bath or shower, even getting dressed. We find ourselves giving up activities and things we once enjoyed simply because it is just too difficult to make them happen. Perhaps our loved ones have become concerned about our ability to continue on in our home environment. One of our clients made this comment recently: "Home Instead has provided the services that have allowed me to keep my wife at home with me. They have always been cheerful and willing." Just a few hours of well-planned assistance can enable seniors to stay at home and enjoy the retirement living they had anticipated. As our client, Georgeanna, states, "Household tasks became half as taxing with willing hands to help. We enjoy sharing life experiences and a laugh."

Home Instead Senior Care, a locally owned franchise, is an essential part of our senior care "village", offering over 15 years of continuous home care for the seniors of Northwest Arkansas. The ability to provide expert and compassionate care is enhanced on a number of levels including a very careful selection process for our CAREgivers. In addition to background checks, reference checks, and drug testing, Home Instead CAREgivers are interviewed thoroughly to find the most committed and nurturing members of our community. Once we find those people, we make certain they are included in our fold as our employees. We take care of all employment needs so that neither the CAREgiver nor client has to be concerned with those details.

While a nurturing and caring soul is our first requisite in this process, training is crucial. It is so crucial that we provide the training ourselves. Home Instead Senior Care's training program is created by our Home Instead Corporate Office, which has invested millions of dollars in research. This provides the most up-to-date information available from a wide array of gerontology experts: physicians, professors, and caregivers. This information is being shared with over 1800 franchises throughout the United States and over 20 foreign countries. Thousands of Home Instead Senior CAREgivers have been trained in the classroom with additional in-service training provided by webinars and written work. The Alzheimer's Family Caregiver course has been rolled out to community members as a public service to those family members who are currently caring for a loved one at home. Our training coordinators have spoken at professional organizations and in-service training sessions throughout Arkansas.

Home Instead Senior Care of Northwest Arkansas has just completed a state-of-the-art training facility in the Frisco Station Mall, complete with classrooms, meeting rooms, and a hands-on training area created to function like a senior apartment. Training is provided by a seasoned training coordinator and our registered nurse, who provides personal care training and supervision. This training gives us another opportunity to get to know your caregivers and evaluate the best possible placement with our clients. This core curriculum is so thorough that the Schmieding Center has partnered with Home Instead Senior Care to allow those who have completed our program to consider it equivalent to Schmieding's. We, in turn, are sponsoring selected CAREgivers to attend the Schmieding Center Advanced Caregiver classes--just one more opportunity to offer another level of peace of mind to our clients AND our caregivers.

Without our CAREgivers, we are helpless. But, without our office support, it would not be possible to provide the level of care which has made us a trusted resource in this community for the past 15 years. Each of us comes to you with a personal history of commitment and passion for service. Together, we come to you with a cumulative total of three-quarters of a century of home care experience. When we say, "To us, It's Personal," we mean that on every level. We put those years of experience to use daily to support our CAREgivers in the field and to make certain that our clients are getting the best possible CAREgiver for their situations.

We vare led by an experienced management team of owners who joined the home care village to provide service to this community. They are innovative and eager to learn and disseminate new information as it is available. They have worked hard to provide the best working environment for our CAREgivers, including comprehensive benefits and competitive pay. Their enthusiasm for providing the best possible care is contagious and is evidenced by the whole Home Instead Senior Care family of 10 office staff and over 150 caregivers. Services extend to all members of the community, from Medicaid clients, veterans, those with longterm insurance or trusts, and those who pay privately. As the elder community continues to grow, we are always searching for just the right nurturing souls to provide our special level of care.

Most importantly, whether you are a senior who needs some assistance, or you are a family member who needs to know your loved one is safe and content, we are here to provide you with peace of mind. Whether that requires just a few hours per week or full 24 hours per day care, we have just the right CAREgivers to make that happen. We are your trusted home care resource in this village!
