After nearly 12 years at The Weekly Vista, Jan Burgess is retiring.
Burgess handles front-office duties, deals with submitted news items, and writes columns.
Her last day is Oct. 24.
"I'm excited for Jan because she and her husband, Bruce, are going to be able to spend more time together," said Weekly Vista editor Kent Marts. "It is a saddens me to make this announcement, because Jan has a tremendous knowledge of Bella Vista."
While she's leaving the paper, she's still going to write her monthly column "Simple Faith."
"In fact," Marts said, "she's working more than a year ahead, so readers will be able to enjoy her insights for a long time to come."
No public party is planned.
Wwell-wishers may drop by the office throughout the day.
