Although I have never been there, I have been told that Disneyworld is the most magical place on earth. I'm not so sure about that. I would like to propose that the honor just might go to the Bella Vista Public Library!
Honestly, there are always good things happening at the Bella Vista Library. My staff and I comment almost daily that things happen at the library like magic. For example, we might need a volunteer to do something specific and someone will just show up wanting to do it. Or new folks will come in and it seems we have an immediate connection with them. Any need we have, the solution just comes out of nowhere. So I'm taking this magical mindset to heart when thinking about our much-needed library expansion.
I was talking with a gentleman the other day who asked how fundraising for the library expansion was going. I told him that fundraising is never going as fast as we'd like and how much we desperately need the expansion. He commented about all the wonderful things happening at the library and how we are bursting at the seams.
I realized we should be telling everyone how great our library is and how the attendance is growing and how this is the most magical place on earth. Well, OK, maybe we can't compete with Disneyworld -- but it IS the most magical place in Benton County.
My staff and I want you to know how desperately we need this expansion because of all the wonderful things happening at this magical place.
I truly believe that our expansion will happen and I think it will be sooner rather than later. One never knows where the funding might come from, but I sincerely believe it WILL come. We may have to do the expansion in phases or scale down our plan a little, but it is going to happen.
If you haven't been to our library in the woods, I invite you to visit us. Stop by for a cup of coffee,some conversation and even pick up something to read while you are here. Our volunteers and staff are always friendly and welcoming and I think you will immediately feel right at home. I invite you to stop by and experience the magic.
