Highlands Home tour a success

Thank you, Bella Vista.

The 25th annual Highlands Church Homes Tour was a smashing success.

Everyone talks today about wow factors -- that one thing puts you over the top. Many people contributed over eight months of preparation. We can talk about the tremendous coverage by The Weekly Vista and radio station 106.5, the boat ride to the home on Coldstream Circle, and good ticket sales. The community was beginning to feel the vibrations, everything was pointing to success.

Now let's look at the smashing success. More than $18,000, after expenses, will go to the Outreach Program at Highlands Church, of which 65 percent stays in the local community. Talk about a "wow factor." The community was a large part of this. More than $5,000 contributed by local merchants, ticket sales were up, and the average attendance at five homes was 656 people.

The final result was the combination of tremendous church output and wonderful community support. This, undeniably, was a great wow factor.
