Lutheran Church

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations of cereals and peanut butter and jelly are requested.

The "Inquirers Class" led by the Rev. Hass is held every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for those interested in the beliefs of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Sunday morning worship begins at 8:30 a.m. with a traditional service and a blended service takes place at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible classes are at 9:45 a.m.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

The Unitarian Universalists of Benton County is located at 1110 SE Evergreen St., Little Einstein Montessori School, in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J Streets. The Sunday service begins at 11 a.m. and is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

On Sunday, May 10, topics offered for group discussion include "Simple Steps Toward Cultivating the Practice of Mindfulness & Meditation," Transcendentalism and Hinduism.

Village Baptist Church

Men's monthly breakfast meets at the Golden Corral Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m.

The Rev. Bill Bowen will bring the message at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, May 10. There will not be an evening service.

Men's prayer and Bible Study from 1st John takes place each Friday morning from 8 to 10 a.m.

Combs, ball caps, hairbrushes and hair accessories for Operation Christmas Child are being collected. Contact the church office for more information.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista will be participating in the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7. The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast will be at 7 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. The day will conclude with an evening prayer service at the Bella Vista Community Church at 6:30 p.m.

Presbyterian women will enjoy a birthday potluck luncheon at noon Friday, May 8, in fellowship hall. Sign up at the information center and invite a friend. The program will be presented by Elizabeth Lyon with the Fort Smith Symphony, the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra.

A traditional worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 10, for Mother's Day. Visitors are welcome. Adult and children's Sunday school both meet at 8:30 a.m.

The men of the church are asked to sign up for the men's fellowship breakfast to be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in fellowship hall. The cost is $3 and a canned food item for Helping Hands Food Pantry. A sign up sheet is available.

United Lutheran Church

United Singles will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, in fellowship hall for bingo and fellowship. Bring snacks and drinks to share.

Worship with communion is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday with readings from John 3: 16-24 and John 10; 11 - 18. Sunday School is at 10:30 a.m. and an adult Bible class is at 10:45 a.m.

Breakfast Club will meet at 8 a.m. Monday, May 11, for breakfast. The speaker is to be announced. Sign up to attend.

United in Prayer meets at 3 p.m. each Monday. All are welcome.

Parkinson's Support group will convene at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

On May 17 the congregational meeting will celebrate United's 40th anniversary with a potluck in the church basement. Founding members, former pastors, past presidents and others will make presentations. A brief history of the congregation will be given. Scrapbooks and pictures will be on display. There is a sign up sheet to bring either a dessert or salad. Brats will be provided.

of the Ozarks

Book study continues with "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth each Sunday at 9 a.m. The book explains the Unity teachings in a clear, understandable and thought provoking way.

Following the Sunday, May 10, 10:30 a.m. service all are invited to "Stand in Peace" for 5 minutes.

Wednesday Night Class and Meditation is held each week at 7 p.m. at the church. The classes are filled with meaningful discussions on the issues of life from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class.

May 16 is the drive to Unity Village, Mo., for an overnight stay and inspiring Sunday services at the Unity Village Chapel. Call Rev. Skalitsky to make a reservation.

Christian Church

A celebration of all women will be held on Mother's Day May 10 at both the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services at Bella Vista Christian Church. KidTown for children birth through grade 5 is held during both services. Student Ministry Engage Study for grades 6 through 12 meets at 6 p.m. Sunday evenings.

Women's Bible study on the book of Jeremiah is held on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

A men's DVD study titled "Bonhoeffer" is on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

Engage Worship for students grades 6 through 12 will hold their worship service on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

A three-week Discovery session to learn more about Bella Vista Christian Church will be held May 10, 17 and 24 at both the 9 or 10:45 a.m. service.

Choir practice begins Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

Game Day will be held at 1 p.m. the second and third Thursday of each month in fellowship hall. All are welcome.

Disciples Women will meet for brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9. New officers will be installed at this gathering.

Elders will meet at 8:15 a.m. Sunday. On May 10 Sunday school will be offered at 9:30 a.m. followed by a worship service with open Communion at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paul Seal will be speaking on "The Mobile Church of the Old Testament" from Exodus 34: 1-3; 35: 4; 10-19.

Church board will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, May 11.

Bible Study takes place at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Evangelical Free

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 6. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of church volunteers.

A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities also held for children and youth. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available. The community is welcome.

Bible study in the book of Romans meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7.

On May 10 Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. worship service with communion.

The Rev. Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "It Was the Best & Worst of Times." This week's focus is "Staying Clean in a Polluted World" with a text of 1 Peter 1:13-21. At 3 p.m. a ministry team from the church will provide a worship service at Concordia Care Center.

Monday, May 11, a ministry team from the church will offer a 10 a.m. worship service at Village House adult day care center.

A men's Bible study on Jeremiah meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7 p.m.

Methodist Church

The Bella Vista Mayor's Prayer breakfast will be held at 7 a.m. Thursday, May 7, in Becker Hall. Tickets are $6. Bella Vista Mayor Peter Christie will be the key-note speaker.

The Wesley Series concert will feature the Graduate Fellowship String Quartet from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9. There is no charge and the public is welcome.

Sunday, May 10, the Rev. Jaimie J. Alexander will bring the message "Need for Grace" as part of the sermon series titled "Inheritance: Our Spiritual Riches" using scripture from Ephesians 2:8-10 and Romans 3:22-24.

United Methodist Men will host "Ladies Appreciation Night" Wednesday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. in Becker Hall. Vocal Expressions Barber Shop Quartet will entertain and dinner will be served. Tickets are $12 each and available in the church office during the week. Sunday, May 10, is the last day to make a reservation and buy tickets.

Bazaar workshops meet every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to bring a sack lunch and hours worked are flexible.

Prayer service meets every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel. Youth Life meets at 7 p.m. for junior and senior high school students.

Caregivers Support Group provides a support system for primary caregivers. The group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9 a.m.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 and 10:45 a.m. with a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages are held at 9:30 a.m. A nursery is provided.

Community Church

Prayer fellowship meets every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. and free blood pressure checks are available in the nurses' office from 9 a.m. to noon. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the parlor.

Wednesday night family activities: begin at 6 p.m. with a pizza supper followed at 6:30 p.m. by a Bible study for all ages. A nursery is provided.

The women's Bible study group is offering an eight-week study of "The God I Never Knew" by Robert Morris begag Thursday, April 30.

The morning class meets at 9:30 a.m. and the evening class at 6 p.m. Call the church office to sign up for either class. Cost of the book is $7.

Thursday, May 7, is designated as a National Day of Prayer. The Bella Vista Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring a community prayer service to be held at Community Church at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Adult Sunday school meets from 8 to 9 a.m. Worship is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings with coffee fellowship before and after the service.

A staffed nursery is available as well as a children's Teaching Time for ages 4-12 during the worship service.
