Saturday, June 27

s Residents of Lake Windsor are planning a Parade of Boats from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme for the parade will be "All American." Parade organizers offer this fun, family-friendly, hot-fun-in-the-summertime event as an addition to other planned festivities surrounding the 100th anniversary of the Bella Vista resort and the 50th anniversary of Bella Vista Village, according to a press release. Additionally, it's the 40th anniversary of Lake Windsor, which was completed in 1975. Registration is free. Participating boat owners must possess a current Bella Vista POA boat registration permit. Boats of all crafts are welcome to join the parade. Boats must be registered with the organizing committee and decorated in an "All American" theme. s A concert to benefit the Arkansas Children's Hospital is planned for 7 p.m. at the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel. The concert will feature Mariah Wilcox, soprano, winner of the Metropolitan Opera award in 2015, and Janina Asciuto Herbert, pianist, first-place winner in the Hi-Tech International Piano Competition in China. Admission of $5, for everyone over 6 years of age.

Friday, July 3

s The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association is hosting a family-friendly event at Loch Lomond starting at 6 p.m. "Freedom Fest" will be another event in the Association's year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary. POA membership is not required for the event. The event will be held in conjunction with the city's annual fireworks show. Freedom Fest will showcase live entertainment, food trucks, kids' activities, and fun for the entire family. Those planning on attending should bring a lawn chair for the event. s The Fire Department will shoot off fireworks starting around dusk from the Loch Lomond Dam.

s The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will have a Fourth of July concert at 7 p.m. at the bandstand at Blowing Springs Park. The concert is free to the public. Attendees also can enjoy a picnic supper served from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. provided by the Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club with proceeds being donated to non-profit organizations in the area. Blowing Springs Park is located east of U.S. 71 on Dartmoor Road. After crossing the bridge, continue to go straight after stopping at stop sign. s The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association is hosting a free movie night at the Metfield Pavilion, located at 1 Hilltop Drive.The outdoor, family-friendly events will offer free drinks and popcorn while movie goers enjoy the show from the lawn. The movie night starts at 8:30 p.m. and will feature the movie "The Lego Movie." Those attending should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. To reach the Metfield Pavilion, take U.S. 71 to Trafalgar Road. Turn right on Commonwealth Road, and take another right onto Hilltop Drive. s The Third Thursday Concert at the Artist Retreat Center will feature the young folk, rock, Americana duo of Caleb and Pat will perform. As a solo artist, Pat placed in the top five nationwide and in the top 20 worldwide in the 2013 Walmart Talent Search. Caleb is just 17 and is quickly making a name for himself, playing with some of northwest Arkansas' top players. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Saturday, July 18

s The Saturday Night Social will bring the Arkansas-based guitar trio Finger Food at the Artist Retreat Center. Performing "in the round" and trading songs and stories will be Steve Davison, Danny Dozier and Micky Rigby. The three guitarists play different styles on custom or historic six- or 12-string guitars. The guitarists have recently performed at Wildwood Theater for the Performing Arts and The Oxford American's South on Main. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Saturday August 1

s United Methodist Women's annual Rummage Sale will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive. There will be something for everyone. Sweet rolls and/or lunch will be available.

Thursday, Aug. 20

s The Third Thursday Concert at the Artist Retreat Center will feature Bella Vista's own Ron Stratton. Stratton is a guitarist and harmonica player. He writes songs intended for others to perform, as he can't imagine ever "going on the road." His lyrics have been recognized by "American Songwriter" magazine. For the show at the ARC, he'll play several of his most personal songs. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
