The first Bella Vista Photography Club meeting of 2015 was met with a full house, 20 members and seven guests. Five guests became new members: John Wooley, Jim Jensen, Lisa Grimes, Sherry Villines and Doug Keck.

A slide show program on "time lapse photography" was presented by Keck. He gave the nuts and bolts of how to set up camera and instructions on how to edit.

• Tips: Use a sturdy tripod, an interval timer on the camera and a large memory card.

• Camera settings: Set focus then put on manual, don't use white balance and set camera for three-second intervals for 999 shots.

• Editing: Choose program, 999 pictures will make a 30-second video and always save photo at highest resolution.

The January winners for the digital contest "Holiday" were: Jean Berg, first; Mike Walker, second; and Mimi Collins, third.

"Texture" will be the February digital contest.

Karin Fowler accepted the position of co-competitions chairwoman. Gwynda Walker accepted the position of treasurer.
