s 12 p.m. Arkansas Master Naturalist Denis Dean will present "Disappearing Ground: Karst, Sinkholes, Caves and More," a program on the limestone geology of the Ozark Mountains, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave. in downtown Springdale. A retired attorney, Dean now spends his time presenting nature programs to school classes, community groups and state park visitors across the region. s Dave Ramsey's 9-week Financial Peace University is coming to Bella Vista. The program is being hosted by Village Bible Church located at Town Center across from Arvest Bank. Ramsey teaches practical steps to regain control of the your finances. Membership in Financial Peace University is $99. Come to a free preview night at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25. at Village Bible Church. The classes, costs and benefits will be explained. s The 2015 annual meeting of the Bella Vista Animal Shelter Inc. will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Village Insurance Community Room, 2838 Bella Vista Way. s The Northwest Community Church, which meets at Cooper Elementary School, and the Cooper Elementary Parental Involvement Committee are working together to present Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey. An informational meeting, open to the entire community, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Cooper Elementary School. The informational meeting is free. The class will run from Feb. 4 to April 8 with topics such as "Breaking the Cycle of Debt" and "Keeping the American Dream from Becoming a Nightmare." The fee for the class is $93. s The Bella Vista Photography Club's fall and spring competition photos of 2014 will be on display at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, in the Walmart Room at the Bentonville Library. The public is invited.

s The Cooper Elementary PTO was looking for something new and different to raise funds for their annual Fun & Field Day event. They found it in a Zumbathon scheduled for 9 a.m to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31. Zumba is a high energy, cardio workout inspired by Latin dance. Zumba classes are available at area fitness centers including POA facilities. The Zumbathon is open to everyone, not just Cooper parents. Children are welcome as well and a children's Zumbathon will be taking place in the gym while the adults exercise in the cafeteria. Instructors are certified Zumba Fitness instructors. The cost is $10 for an adult and $5 for a child and can be paid at the door.

s A Valentine's Day Dance by the Bella Vista Big Band will be from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive, Bella Vista.
