Author releases first book in teen adventure series

Inspired by a writing instructor, M.M. Meyer of Bella Vista took the challenge of writing a book with the theme of teenage time-travel adventure. Now, Meyer invites readers young and old "Into the Cave" with the release of the first book in her upcoming series.

The story is about two intelligent teenagers who enter a cave in the 21st century and come out in the Neanderthal age of 30,000 BC. Although disoriented at first, the two must use their intellect and rely on their caveman friends, who think the teens are gods, in order to survive and return to the present. Can they do that before they run out of time and get stuck in the primitive world?

"Into the Cave," published by Xlibris, is available at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

Meyer, aka Jeri, was born in La Porte, Texas, but grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. After marrying, she lived in Kansas, Washington, D.C., and South Carolina. She has written several comedy plays based loosely on fairy tales -- two of them have been produced locally -- and children's short stories.

The writer has finally settled in Bella Vista where she lives with several cats and a cat-disciplining Australian Shepherd.
