Blood donations needed

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is under a code yellow alert for A positive, A negative and O negative blood types. There is currently less than a two-day supply of these types on hospital shelves.

Bella Vistans can help replenish the supply by participating in a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church, 210 Town Center S.E. To be eligible to give blood, a person must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present photo identification.

Each donation will be awarded LifePoints as a part of CBCO's donor rewards program. LifePoints may be redeemed online for a variety of gift cards, or points may be assigned to other meaningful causes or charities. More information on the program may be found at www.cbco.org.
