The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association has named Keith Ihms as its new golf course maintenance manager.

Ihms will be responsible for 126 holes of golf and a driving range, and he will direct five golf course superintendents in a variety of maintenance and improvement projects. Ihms was scheduled to begin his new job on Monday, April 21, the POA announced Friday.

One of more than 50 applicants, Ihms is a certified golf course superintendent with more than 25 years of experience in private clubs. Most recently, he worked nine years as a golf course superintendent at the Country Club of Little Rock.

Prior to that, he worked at four Texas-based golf courses, including Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas and Pine Forest Country Club in Houston.

A certified golf course superintendent since 1986, Ihms has served on the board of directors for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America since 2007, and is the current board president.

Ihms, who has a bachelor's degree in agronomy turfgrass specialization from Texas A&M University, has extensive experience in course construction and renovation and practice facility design. He also offers strong agronomic knowledge and management skills.

He replaces Casey Crittenden, who left the organization in December 2013.
