The Bella Vista Women's Golf Club kicked off the season March 27 with its spring brunch and meeting at the Bella Vista Country Club.

Special recognition was given to several guests, including sponsors Steve Morrow from Allen's Foods and Carolyn Mitchell, new business manager for Arvest Bank; Andy Mar, PGA professional and golf operations manager; the club's PGA professionals, Chuck Ritter, Joe Aubrey of the Kingsdale Golf Course and Mike Singletary from the Tanyard Creek Practice Center. Special thanks and recognition was given to Evan Griffith of Griffith Motors, who was unable to attend.

Members of the membership committee -- Gayle Placial, Donna Marie Anderson and Roxi Dwyer -- handed out the 2014 directory and yearbook as attendees entered. The meeting was called to order by 2014 President Yvonne Nelles.

A big welcome was given to new members, Robyn Wolters and Ronnie Nelson, and their big sisters, Jan Simms and Rosalie Dragland.

The Women's Golf Club welcomes all ladies interested in playing 18 holes of golf or who want to be social members. A membership form is available on the group's website -- www.bvwgc.com -- or on the association's website -- www.bvpoa.com -- and at all Bella Vista golf shops.

Anyone interested in joining may call Gayle Placial, membership chairwoman, at 479-268-4130 for other information.
