It was a tough winter for James Huff, owner of Bumper 2 Bumper Detailing, a car detailing business he opened eight months ago.
Located at 13904 N. Highway 279, south of Bella Vista, Huff said the weather was sunny and then winter hit.
"It was terrible for a while," said Huff, 39, who had to take cars to an area car wash to clean before he detailed them. "We've been busy now with the good sunny days."
An auto body repair graduate of the Ozark Institute in Ozark, Ark., Huff graduated from high school in Fort Smith. After graduating from the Ozark Institute, he worked for American Limousine in Van Buren and then moved to northwest Arkansas where he worked for Walmart.
That's when the opportunity to own a car detailing shop came to pass.
A resident of Bella Vista, Huff said his detailing shop also fixes hail damage and dents and offers scratch removal.
He usually works on three cars a day and is willing to stay late to get the job done because he doesn't like to keep vehicles overnight.
His washing and detailing packages run from $25 to slightly more than $200, depending on what work needs to be done. He also offers a three-stage wax option.
Bella Vistan George Chapman, who was waiting for his car to be washed, said he's been out to see Huff nearly a half dozen times since he opened.
"He's so friendly and is so particular about cleaning cars," Chapman said. "He's really proud of his work and will bend over backwards to do a good job."
