Howard David Garrison

Howard David Garrison passed into eternal life on January 8, 2021. He was born August 8, 1935, to Howard and Bessie Garrison of Naylor, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and the Railroad Communications School. He was married to the former Becky Jones Garrison for 65 years.

David worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years and retired as a Train Dispatcher. He was a member of Highland Christian Church of Bella Vista, Arkansas, where he had served as an elder.

David is survived by his wife, Becky; his sons, Danny Garrison and wife, Terri, and Greg Garrison and wife, Kelly. His grandchildren include Clay Garrison (Whitney), Kaitlen Gober (Kale), Chelsea Miller (Chase), Whitney Mathias (Miles), Mitchell Garrison (Cara) and Kami Garrison. He also had six great-grandchildren, Avery, Bentley and Brooks Garrison, and Knox, Vera Kate and Elle Gober. David is also survived by a sister, Eura Mae Loyd of Conway; a brother, Larry Garrison and wife Martha of Mount Vernon.

A service honoring David's life was held Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, Arkansas. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Highland Christian Church of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Connie L. Hayford of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 13, 2021.

She was born June 2, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) J. Hayford Jr.; parents, Howard and Fern Walton; sibling, Robert Walton.

Survivors include children, Larry Hayford of Bella Vista, Medina (Jerry) Sutter of Magnolia, Texas, Bill (Allison) Hayford of Toccoa, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial service was held Jan. 19, 2021, at Highlands Methodist Church in Bella Vista.

Lorraine Inger (Larson) Jeub

Lorraine Inger (Larson) Jeub, 103, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 9, 2021.

She was born June 24, 1917, in Minneapolis to Lloyd Albert Larson and Marie Ingerborg Olson Larson. She was a Cub Scout den mother. She moved to Bella Vista in 1992 from Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Omaha, Neb. She was proud of her work as a journeyman electrician working on Liberty Ships at the Keiser Shipyards during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law, J.D. Shrum.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Jeub (Helen) of Sun Lake, Ariz., Steven L. Jeub (Joan) of Omaha; two daughters, Malanie Crouch (Terry) of Spirit Lake, Barb Shrum of Bella Vista; and six grandchildren.

Lois Jean Miles

Lois Jean Miles, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 9, 2021, at a local skilled care center.

She was born Sept. 2, 1941, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to James and Vivian Amundson. She was raised in Radcliffe, Iowa, and graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1959. She enjoyed telling and re-telling family farm stories of her father farming with horses, raising cattle, and her mom baking wedding cakes. She married Gerald Jean Miles on Dec. 10, 1960, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. They settled on a farm and began farming with her dad. After 20 years on the farm, they went into the motel business and managed motels in numerous locations of the U.S. After moving to Bella Vista in 1993, she worked at the Benton County courthouse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Gerald.

Survivors include brothers, Ron, Lee, Jon, Jim; her sons, Robert (Jennifer) Miles of Bella Vista, Rick (Kim) Miles of Radcliffe, Terry (Kim) Miles of Bella Vista, Steve (Lori) Miles of Quincy, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. At that time, she will join Gerald at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

Howard Muirhead

Howard "Lloyd" Muirhead, 97, of Bella Vista, Ark., died due to covid-19 complications Jan. 12, 2021.

He was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Steamboat Springs, Colo., to William Muirhead and Icil (Morris) Muirhead.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Muirhead; sister, Lela (Muirhead) Peterson; stepson, Douglas Payne; and son-in-law, Jack Van Wechel.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Marilyn of Bentonville; son, Brent Muirhead of Alpharetta, Ga.; two daughters, Joy (Muirhead) Van Wechel of Anthem, Ariz., Renee (Muirhead) McFerron of Aurora, Colo.; two stepchildren, Jeff Payne of Broken Arrow, Okla., Deborah Hogan of Gretna, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, a visitation will not be held. A memorial service and burial will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery, with full honors by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard, but it is limited to family members only.

JoAnn Christine DeRamus Oxford

JoAnn Christine DeRamus Oxford, 73, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Jan. 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Rogers surrounded by family.

She was born Aug. 31, 1947, in Dickinson, N.D., the daughter of Christian and Pauline (Jahner) Frank. She was a devout Catholic and loved Jesus with her whole heart. Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking, painting and pottery. She also enjoyed dancing, her coffee and saying her Rosary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years, Carl DeRamus; son, James DeRamus; brother, Patrick Frank; and granddaughter, Sadie Cox.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Norman Oxford; children, Eleanor (Jonathan) Cox, Mary Ann (Scott) Hennings, Christina (Jim) Brooks, David DeRamus; daughter-in-law, Ashley DeRamus; six grandchildren; and siblings, Virginia (Leo) Breyer, Margaret Hansen, Donald (April) Frank, Cornella Blokzyl, Dorothy (Calvin) Quimby, Steven (Wanda) Frank, Theresa (Rob) Chiarelli, Joseph Frank.

A visitation was held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Bella Vista, Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2020, followed by the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection.
