Bella Vistan brings home awards, Natural State Tree Climbing Championship

LITTLE ROCK -- Jimmy King of Bella Vista and Jacob Perkins of Missouri both took home the master's challenge trophy Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council's third annual Natural State Tree Climbing Championship.

During the two-day trial of competitions at Fayetteville's Walker Park, 40 competitors from eight states showcased their arborist skills in throwline, open ascent, work climb, aerial rescue and the master's challenge.

"We would like to congratulate both Jimmy and Jacob on their well-deserved awards and thank them and all of the competitors for their dedication to the arborist profession," said David Raines, competition coordinator. "We would also like to thank all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this year's event possible!"

This is the second year King placed first in the master's challenge. Last year's out-of-state master's challenge winner was Bryan Brock from Wichita, Kan.
