St Bernard Catholic Church

The Knights of Columbus Council 9514 is sponsoring a bus trip to the performance of "Miracle of Christmas" at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson. This trip will be Saturday, Nov. 16, for the 11:30 performance. It is a fundraiser for the Knights of Columbus. The cost of the trip is $79 per person and will include bus transportation and reserved seating at the show. The bus will begin loading at 8 a.m. and leave at 8:30 a.m. from the parking lot of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, 1 St. Bernard Lane. Bella Vista Community Church

A new sermon series, "Jesus Christ: The Perfect Savior," begins this Sunday and runs through Nov. 24. This week's sermon will focus on "The Perfect Brother."

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Join in on another Salvation Army Food Drive Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on 15th and Walton Blvd., across from Harps in Bentonville. This is a benefit for a tremendous number of people.

Sunday, Sept 29, at 10:30 a.m. Unity Church of the Ozarks is relocating to 2200 S.E. J Street in Bentonville and is celebrating the first service "The Emphasis on You." This service will be followed with a monthly potluck. Bring a dish and join in this friendly congregation. All are welcome.

Weekly Wednesday night class, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., continues studying "Heart Centered Metaphysics" by Paul Hasselbeck, co-facilitated by the Rev. Elise Cowan and Kent Lowery. Divine Mind, praying together, sin/evil/the devil are some of the discussions. These create an interesting and enriching class. A 20-minute meditation follows the class. Join us.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Boulevard, will be host to a free day-long event sponsored by The Benton County S.A.L.T. titled "Senior Safety Academy." The event begins at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast and concludes at approximately 4 p.m. and does include both breakfast and lunch. Several speakers, including Bella Vista's police chief, James Graves, and Bella Vista fire department chief, Steve Sims, will provide valuable information for the senior community. Other topics of interest will include scams targeting seniors, identity theft, Medicare fraud and DNA testing, online purchasing safety and reverse mortgages. "GriefShare" meets on Thursdays at 3 p.m. in the church library. If you have lost a loved one, this is a support group for you.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is in need of boxed cereal. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Highland Christian Church

Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m., the Highland Christian Church will have a special music concert performed by 4Calvary, a gospel quartet from Nixa, Mo., and well-known in the area as well as Silver Dollar City in Branson. The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be taken.

The Disciple Women's Fellowship has started a Saturday brunch and study on the second Saturday of each month. They meet and have brunch and a study. All are welcome to this informal group of ladies sharing food, fellowship and a study together.

Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will be at PCBV for a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, in the Fellowship Hall. Church members can sign up in the connector hallway. Other Bella Vista residents can reserve a spot by calling the church office at 479-855-2390.

Village Baptist Church

The ladies of Village Baptist Church will host "The Apple Adventure" on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the church fellowship area. There will be laughs, fun, games and, of course, foods made with apples. The special guest speaker with be June Pike, who spent many years as a missionary with her husband, Harrison. Don't miss the opportunity to hear this delightful lady share her faith. All ladies of the community are invited to share in this fun time apple foods.

On Sunday evening, Sept. 29, at 5:30 p.m., the church will host a "Fifth Sunday Sing" followed by a "Tailgate Party." Every fifth Sunday, the community is invited to enjoy a great night of praising the Lord in song and afterward "food 'n fun" in the fellowship hall. This Sunday's fellowship theme is a tailgate party and there will be hot dogs and all the fixings. Everyone is encouraged to wear a shirt promoting a favorite football team. The tables will be decorated by diehard fans designating their teams of choice. The church is located at 380 Glasgow Road. Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Sept. 25, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers.

Pastor Mark and associate Pastor Al will continue the sermon series titled "Faith That Makes A Difference." This Sunday's sermon is titled "A Different View of Persons" with a text of James 2:1-13.

First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista

United Methodist Women will hold the annual Holiday Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. There will be something for everyone. Homemade cinnamon and orange rolls and coffee will be available at 8:30 a.m., with hot chicken salad, sloppy Joe and chips, stuffed baked potatoes and dessert available after 10:30 a.m. Orange and cinnamon rolls (6 or 12) may be pre-ordered at 479-855-1158. A variety of handcrafted items, "dignified discards," plants, homemade jams, jellies, breads and desserts and more will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to support local charities.

A grandparent's support group is available for grandparents who are raising grandchildren and meets the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 4 p.m. in the parlor. The Rev. Jim Rowland facilitates this group. Share stories, concerns, questions, joys, second chances and hope with others. If you aren't raising your grandkids, but know someone who is, please invite them to be a part of this group. This is an ongoing support group and is open to all in the community. Bring a friend.

Highlands Church (United Methodist)

Highlands Church will host "Cruise-In Car Show" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Everyone is welcome to check out the vehicles on display and join in the games and trivia. Enjoy the "free" lunch with a $10 donation. Join in a celebration of all things automotive. Display your special vehicle(s) for free. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. No judging. Proceeds go to support Bright Futures, Samaritan's Feet and Snack Packs for Gravette School District students.
