Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 16, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers.

Sunday, Oct. 20, Pastor Mark and Associate Pastor Al will continue the sermon series titled "Faith That Makes A Difference" with Discoveries in the Letter of James.

Bella Vista Community Church

"It's Fall Y'all!" family fun festival runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in McKay Hall. Enjoy games, raffle door prizes, candy, food and drinks for the whole family. For more information, call the church at 479-855-1126.

BVCC will host a presentation by the Benton County Sheriff's Office called Parents Night Out on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. Discussion includes the dangers children face online and how to proactively protect them. Light refreshments are served. No children are permitted due to the subject matter. Sign up in advance online only at bvcc.net. Click on the News & Events tab then Parents Night Out.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

The annual holiday bazaar "Home for the Holidays," sponsored by the St. Bernard's Women's Club, will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista. There will be all sorts of handmade items crafted with care from farmhouse decor and wood projects to handmade holiday crafts. There will be a raffle for a TV, a handmade quilt and more; as well as a 50/50 raffle. Baked goods will be sold and the Bazaar Cafe will serve chili, chicken soup, and other delectables. (Breakfast, lunch and carry-outs will be available.) Browse the trinkets and treasures and jewelry department, as well. All profits go to support local charities.

Highlands Church (United Methodist)

Trunk or Treat, a fun-filled night for the whole family will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m Sunday, Oct. 27, in the front parking lot at Highlands Church located at 371 Glasgow Road. It will be packed with decorated trunks, games, a photo booth and, of course, candy. Costumes are encouraged. Done miss it, it's a free event for the community. Call 479-855-2277 with any questions.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

On Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. the Celebration Choir and Orchestra of Bella Vista Lutheran Church will present Handel's Messiah. The choir is now practicing for this event and invites you to join the choir. Practice for this event is at 10 a.m. every Saturday.

GriefShare meets at 3 p.m. every Thursday in the church library. If you have lost a loved one recently, this is a wonderful support group.

The Sonday Riders will meet on Sunday, Oct. 20. All two, three and four-wheeled vehicles are welcome for a day of fun and food.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. Now collecting items for the upcoming holidays and asking for canned sweet potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, pure pumpkin, evaporated milk and canned cranberry sauce. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

Highland Christian Church

Disciples Men will meet at 8:30 a.m on Saturday, Oct. 19, in the fellowship hall. After the coffee and snack, the men will be working inside and outside to clean up and repair anything in need.

On Sunday, Oct. 20, after the morning service, there will be a fellowship meal. This week's menu will be soup, sandwich and dessert.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Unity Church of the Ozarks has relocated to 2200 S.E. J Street, Suite 10, Bentonville. Sunday, Oct 13, the Rev. Elise Cowan will present "The Perfect Round" as part of the Fall Faith Series: What Is Unity? The service is followed by refreshments.

October is a month in which items are being gathered up for the thousands of military personnel in Afghanistan for the upcoming winter, including anything from cocoa packets to knit hats, warm gloves and blankets. The American Vets #341 will ship these items.

Presbyterian Church of BV

Movie and Popcorn Night will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, in the fellowship hall, to watch the inspirational film, "The Ultimate Gift" (PG). Popcorn, soft drinks and coffee will be served. Bring your family, friends and neighbors. Church members should sign up in the connector hallway. If you are not a PCBV member, please call the church office at 479-855-2390 to RSVP. This is a free event and everyone is welcome!

PCBV invites all to the Fall Celebration Sunday on Oct. 27. Worship at 10 a.m. and stay for the celebration immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. There will be a costume contest, games, hot dogs, candy and prizes. Sign up in the connector hallway or call the church office to RSVP. Bring your friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren.
