Bella Vista Community Church

Lenten soup suppers and meditations are held in McKay Hall each Wednesday, through April 10. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. Meditations begin at 6:20 p.m. Suggested donation is $3 per person or $5 per family. Please call the church office to sign up.

Unity Church of the Ozarks

Wednesday, March 20, is the Spring Equinox Drumming Circle and Meditation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The community is invited to bring drums, rattles or other noisemakers to celebrate the new season of spring.

Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The next Women's Book Club meeting is at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 28, in the church parlor. This month's theme is Read a Book about a Famous Couple. For more information, call the church office at 479-855-2390. All women in the community are invited.

Highlands Church (United Methodist)

Highlands Church will host a GriefShare class beginning Thursday, March 21. GriefShare is a grief recovery support group which offers help and healing for the hurt of losing a loved one. The 13 weekly sessions of GriefShare are held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays in the Mark Classroom. Contact the church office at 479-855-2277 for more information.

The next 10-week session of Flex 'N Stretch starts Monday, March 25, at Highlands Church. Classes meet at 7:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Peter Classroom. Its mission is to challenge, encourage and promote better health through physical exercise. You can attend one lesson, all 30 lessons, or somewhere in between. Flex 'N Stretch is a wellness program of activities which provides a higher quality of life through responsible movement that is pain-free and possible for all participants. The program teaches all participants, including seniors, how to do the exercises easily and safely. Benefits include increased range of motion, coordination, strength, balance and agility, all of which improve the quality of life and lead to longer independent living. Village Bible Church

Monday, March 25 Deborah Martin will lead a BIBLE 101 Class - Part 3 of 4. This class is open to anyone; preregistration is not required. Topics covered will include: Who authored the Bible and how did it come to be as we know it? How do I choose which Bible to read and study? Can I trust the Bible to be true? What is the best way to start for someone new to reading the Bible? This event is scheduled 7 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 20, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers.

Sunday, March 24, Pastor Mark Voll will continue the sermon series titled "Discovering the Real Jesus." Part 3 of the sermon series this Sunday is titled "Healer of Diseases" with a text of John 4:46-5:17.

Unitarian Universalists

On Sunday, March 24, "I Want," a homily written by Sarah Richards, Carbondale Unitarian Fellowship, will be delivered by Julie Jensen.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

For the season of Lent, there will be a church service at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Prior to the service, there will be a light supper served, starting at 5:15 p.m. All are welcome.

Bella Vista Lutheran is starting a new one-on-one caring ministry called Confidential Caregiving. This ministry will serve our congregation and the community by caring for those who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

On March 31, Bella Vista Lutheran Church will celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. It is in need of regular and sugar-free Jello and is collecting items for an Easter dinner that will be distributed the first two Fridays in April. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

"Different Strokes for Different Folks" will meet on at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the church library.

First United Methodist Church

An Irish sing-along will be led by FUMCBV church organist Broc Hite at noon Sunday, March 17, in Becker Hall featuring favorite Irish tunes from the past. All are welcome.

A new Grief Support Group, facilitated by Rev. Brenda Wideman, will meet at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday until April 30 in the chapel. All are welcome in support of recovering from a situation of grief.

Aluminum can pull tabs are being collected by the Scouts for the Ronald McDonald House charities through the middle of April. There are collection boxes in the narthex, Becker Hall and the office.

Lenten worship services will be held at 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday through April 16, with a light lunch following.

Two weekly meetings of AA are hosted at the church on Mondays and Saturdays. Please call or stop by the church for more information.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on from 10 to 11 a.m. every Friday in the parlor. Spend an hour to visit and stitch. This group welcomes beginner knitters and will teach. The shawls are given to shut-ins, those who are grieving, and in other circumstances. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being lovingly made.
