Re: Arthur Leu Passing

I read with interest the March 6 "Weekly Vista" obituary of Arthur R. Leu, who died in Illinois on Feb. 26.

Missing in the obituary was Art's big contribution to the idea in 2001 of building a Veterans Wall of Honor in Bella Vista. It was huge!

Art was a champion for this monument to all veterans -- and one of the seven original directors. Art was a former leader and captain of the VFW Post 9063 of Bella Vista and used his leadership skills to promote the idea of a Veterans' Wall of Honor monument.

His efforts were instrumental in promoting frequent news stories and distribution of beautiful color brochures in attractive display stands throughout Benton County. He gave talks at many clubs, churches and service groups, organized large mailings to veteran organizations, as well as continued to display two of the monument models in high traffic locations. All of this to raise the needed funds to bring his idea to fruition.

He did it all! No one could have done it better! Here's a toast to you, Art Leu.
