Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

Did you make a New Year's resolution to be more active in 2019? If so, PCBV's exercise class might be a perfect fit for you. This class meets in fellowship hall at 8 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for stretching and low-impact exercise, using a chair or a mat. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join in for a sing-along at Highlands Rehab and Healthcare Center at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11. PCBV encouragea all Bella Vista area community singers to join in lifting the spirits of the Highlands residents!

There will be a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14 in the Fellowship Hall. Sign up by calling the church office at 479-855-2390. Church members can sign up in Connector Hallway.

Unitarian Universalists

Sunday, Jan. 13: "Hope and Despair" small group discussion and the lighting of the sixth of seven Chalica candles representing the Unitarian Universalist sixth principle, The Goal of World Community with Peace, Liberty, and Justice for All.

Highlands Church (United Methodist)

The next 10 week session of Flex 'N Stretch begins Monday, Jan. 14 at Highlands Church. Classes meet at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Peter Classroom. The mission is to challenge, encourage and promote better health through physical exercise. You can attend one lesson, all 30 lessons, or somewhere in-between - whatever works for you! Flex 'N Stretch is a wellness program of activities which provides a higher quality of life through responsible movement that is pain free and possible for all participants. This well-organized exercise program teaches all participants, including seniors, how to do the exercises easily and safely. Benefits of the program include increased range of motion, coordination, strength, balance and agility, all of which improve the quality of life and lead to longer independent living. Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Jan. 9, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers.

Sunday, Jan. 13, Pastor Mark Voll will begin a new sermon series titled "God's Mission & Jonah's Dilemma." This Sunday's sermon is titled "A Study through the book of Jonah--Part 1."

Bella Vista Community Church

On Saturday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. in McKay Hall, Carie O'Banion speaks on her 400-mile walk across northern Spain known as "Camino de Santiago." Her journey and presentation includes many interesting photos. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the community. Unity Church of the Ozarks

Standing in Peace takes place Sunday Jan. 13 following the 10:30 a.m. service "Zero Point." For special prayer needs, contact Rev. Elise at [email protected].

Kelly McDowell will facilitate a Mind-Body Healing Group from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan, 13 that will explore dualistic beliefs and share new healing exercises. This session is $25.

First United Methodist Church

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets from 10 to 11 a.m. every Friday in Room 6 for an hour of visiting and stitching. All are welcome to this meeting, especially those who would like to learn how to knit. The shawls are given to shut-ins, those who are grieving and to others in special circumstances. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is being made.

Two weekly meetings of AA are hosted at the church on Mondays and Saturdays. Please call or stop by the church for more information.

The Chancel Choir and Chancel Handbell Choir would like to have more folks join. The Chancel Bells meet in the Music Room at 3:15 p.m. every Wednesday, and the Chancel Choir meets at 4:45 p.m. every Wednesday in the Sanctuary.
