Overcoming Writers Block

Whether you compose poetry, are compiling your memoirs or writing a novel, writer's block can hinder that flow of creativity. Come by the library at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, for a 90-minute workshop/seminar at which local author Mike Cleary offers tips and exercises to overcome those obstacles that can prevent you from writing. Bring a pen and paper for some quick and easy exercises that can help you continue your creative process.

Teen Night -- Cupcake Wars

Cupcake Wars is coming to the Bella Vista Public Library at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 19. Bring your culinary creativity to win this battle of baked goods. Plain cupcakes will be provided for your decoration. Do you have what it takes to emerge as the champion? Ages 12-17.

Read to Sissy the Therapy Dog

Learning to read? Come read to therapy dog Sissy on the third and fourth Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. Sissy loves to listen to stories! Reading to therapy dogs encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend to read to that won't laugh at them if they make a mistake or stumble over a word, but rather lie next to them and enjoy the story being read to them. Sign up for a time to read to Sissy at the front desk.

Crafting for the Not-So-Crafty

Do you destroy everything your glue gun touches? Does the very mention of glitter send a chill down your spine? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Crafting for the Not-So-Crafty is the place for you. We're working on the most simple, easy to follow, no-fuss crafts we can find. Join us at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, for mason jar crafts.

UFOs V

Bob VanDerClock is back for another UFO program at 6 p.m. Monday, April 29. This one highlights various government "commissions, studies, etc." ostensibly designed to "investigate" reported sightings. He'll discuss the Project Bluebook show that just wrapped up Season One on the History Channel ... and mention of Robbie Graham's most entertaining 2015 book "Silver Screen Saucers" and more. Sign up at the front desk if you're planning on attending.

We offer Rocket Languages through our website. This language-learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All you need is a library card to access it.
