2019 Medicare changes

Join independent insurance agent Jeremy Janes at the library at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, for an educational presentation on the 2019 changes to Medicare and how they will affect individuals on Medicare.

Amazing birds

All ages are sure to enjoy an up-close look at two species of amazing birds. Wildlife rehabilitator Lynn Sciumbato will be at the library at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, with a turkey vulture and a barred owl. Stop by the library for this spectacular presentation and a chance to see these amazing creatures.

Behind the folk song

Have you ever wondered about the meaning and history behind some of the most beloved American folk songs? Pat Kirby and Mike Cleary return to lead a fun-filled musical journey through many familiar tunes like "Shenandoah," "Tom Dooley," "Buffalo Gals" and others. Join them at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and discover what you didn't know about some of your favorite campfire songs!

Christmas at Dickens Place

The library is now accepting vendor applications for the 2018 Christmas at Dickens Place. If you are interested in selling your art and craft items or food at this event, please fill out a vendor application. The event will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Encore Books

The Friends of the Library's used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours, with everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and much more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

September's displays are provided by photographers Dana Johnson and Kenneth Glasscock.

Floral arrangement

September's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Janice Kennedy of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located at 11 Dickens Place.
