Hear Me Out! Audiobook Club

The first meeting of the Hear Me Out! Audiobook Club will be BYOB (bring your own book). Join us at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, to talk about an audiobook you liked (or didn't like) as well as what you thought about the narrator. We will also choose the books for the next few months.

Calligraphy Class

Instructor Julie Rae will teach a two-hour calligraphy class at the library at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. Please sign up at the front desk to reserve a spot in the class. There is a $25 supply fee for the class, payable at the event, which includes a calligraphy pen and paper.

Welcome Reception

The Library Advisory Board and the Bella Vista Public Library Foundation are co-hosting a Welcome Reception for new the library director Suzanne Adams at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Volunteers and library patrons of all ages are invited to stop by to meet her and welcome her to Bella Vista and our library.

Library closed

The library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day.

Tech Time

Join Adult Services librarian Amanda Gibson at our November Tech Time at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, to discover all about using tablets to download e-books. Bring your tablet to follow along and pick up helpful guides for making the most of your device.

Encore books

The Friends of the Library's used-book store is open six days a week during regular library hours, with everyday low pricing on hardbacks, DVDs, puzzles, children's books, paperbacks, biographies, health and wellness topics and much more. All proceeds of this ongoing fundraiser support the library.

Rocket Languages

Rocket Languages is offered through the library website. This language learning service offers online courses for 15 different languages. All you need is a library card to access it.

Kindle checkout

Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires are available for checkout to patrons in good standing. Each device is loaded with several books and may be checked out for three weeks. New books are added to each device every month. See library staff for the checkout agreement and procedure.

Freegal Music

The library has Freegal Music, which allows patrons to listen to and download music for free through the library website. All you need is a library card. Patrons can download and keep up to three songs a week.

Exhibits

October's displays are provided by a photographer of the Bella Vista Photography Club, Shirley Sheets, also a patron of the Library.

Floral arrangement

October's floral arrangement was designed and provided by Elaine Rooney of the Bella Vista Garden Club. Each month, a member of the Bella Vista Garden Club creates an original floral design to be displayed for patron enjoyment.

Regular library hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Bella Vista Public Library is located at 11 Dickens Place.
