Bella Vista Community Church

BVCC's Women's Bible Study, a seven-week series titled "Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn't Make Sense" by Jennifer Rothschild, begins on Thursday, Oct. 4, with two time choices, 9:30-11:30 a.m. or 6-8 p.m., in room 8-9. Cost is $13. Please call the church office to sign up.

BVCC will host the A-MAZE-ING Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Navigate your way through a maze of exciting themed trunks. There will be plenty of candy along the way.

Unity of the Ozarks

The community is invited to Wednesday night meditation class, 7 to 8:30 p.m. weekly. A Gong Meditation, conducted by Larry Owensby, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 3, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of our friendly volunteers.

Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "Sufficiency In Christ." This Sunday's sermon is titled "A Study in Colossians -- Part 5" with a text of Colossians 2:16-23.

Unitarian Universalists

Sunday, Oct. 7, introduces this month's theme of "Persistence," which is about pushing through and overcoming what may seem to be impossible obstacles.

Highlands Church

Trunk or Treat will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. The front parking lot of Highlands Church will be packed with decorated trunks, games, photo booth and candy. Costumes are encouraged. This is a free event for the community. Call 479-855-2277 with any questions. Highlands Church is located at 371 Glasgow Road, Bella Vista.

First United Methodist Church

Sunday, Oct. 7, First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista will host its annual Wesley Series concert. This year, three accomplished musicians -- Helena Aung, Uriel Pascucci and Andrew Stephens -- will perform works from Ravel, Beethoven, Bach, Davis, Albéniz, Debussy and Liszt at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. It is in need of jelly, sugar-free Jell-O, and heart-healthy soup. It is also collecting "Best Choice" PVC labels. Containers for donations are in the church narthex.

On Oct. 7, there will be Inquirer's Class, giving people an opportunity who wish to learn about the church, how it operates and Lutheran doctrine. This class is at 9:45 a.m.

On Oct. 9, there will be a Senior Safety Academy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free event that will include breakfast and lunch. There will be informative seminars on topics such as identity theft, local scams, elder abuse, Medicare fraud, prescription drug safety and more. Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The community is invited to worship with the Presbyterian Church of Balla Vista on World Communion at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. During the service, The Peace and Global Witness Offering will be received. This offering supports the peace-building ministries of prevention, accompaniment, advocacy and education, as well as addressing violence and inspiring new approaches to active peacemaking. Twenty-five percent of the donations support peace-building ministries in Northwest Arkansas.
