Veterans Wall of Honor hosts fundraiser Dec. 9

The Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas may have that perfect Christmas gift waiting for you.

The Council will host a dinner and silent auction from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, to raise operating funds for the Veterans Wall of Honor. The event will be held at the Bella Vista American Legion, located at U.S. Highway 71 and Kingsland Road in Bella Vista.

A few of the items being offered in the silent auction include a pair of Blink security cameras, a drone, a Red Rider BB gun, a pair of walkie-talkies, a vacuum food sealer, a pair of TV Ears, an American flag hanging kit, golf at local courses, tickets to shows in Branson, gift baskets and much more. The highest bidders do not need to be present to win, but everyone must register prior to bidding on items.

The fundraiser dinner will include a hamburger, baked beans, chips, and water or iced tea, for a minimum $5 donation or two meals for an $8 donation. The American Legion's bar will be open for cash business and will include adult beverages and soft drinks. All proceeds will go toward the Veterans Wall of Honor's operating costs.

Each person in attendance will receive one door-prize ticket. The door-prize drawings will be held every 15 minutes to win coupons to area restaurants and more. Anyone bringing an unwrapped toy for a needy child to be donated at Christmas time will receive an additional three door-prize tickets.

This fundraiser is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend and support the Veterans Wall of Honor.

If you would like to donate a new (nothing used) item for the auction, please send an email to [email protected] or call Council president Douglas Grant at 479-426-8723.
