Monday, April 30

2:30 p.m. Firefighters responded to a grass fire near the intersection of Highlands Blvd. and Edinburgh Road.

4:25 p.m. Police received a report that someone in a rental truck got stuck trying to turn around on Witherby Drive.

Tuesday, May 1

2:30 p.m. An Eleanor Lane resident reported an elderly man with a straw hat in a red car was peeking in their windows.

8:26 p.m. Police helped remove a snake that was under a Mary Ann Lane resident's grill.

10:17 p.m. Police arrested Jeffrey Wetzel, 37, on an out-of-town warrant and in connection with speeding, failure to register a vehicle and driving on a suspended license related to a prior DWI charge.

Wednesday, May 2

9:05 a.m. Someone allegedly drove past a stopped school bus that was loading children near the intersection of Glasgow Road and Baltasound Lane.

4:40 p.m. Police arrested Adam Kuettel, 34, in connection with driving while intoxicated and failure to signal after receiving a report of a reckless driver near Sugar Creek Center.

Thursday, May 3

8:30 a.m. Police arrested Courtney Barnum, 32, on a warrant for allegedly violating a no-contact order. Barnum, who was found at the Bella Vista court facility, was also charged in connection with public intoxication.

9:30 a.m. Two dogs were reportedly playing in the road near the intersection of Cooper Road and Dogwood Drive.

9:42 a.m. A residential intrusion alarm was caused by a downed tree on Bere Circle.

4:30 p.m. Police spoke with someone who was reportedly shoplifting from Allen's Food Market.

Friday, May 4

1:09 a.m. Police arrested David Hutchens, 42, in connection with a call alleging an attempted rape on Churchill Drive. According to the dispatch log, the caller reported a person came at them at a bar and, following the alleged rape attempt, the caller reportedly had the person at gunpoint and the person was allegedly going to try to ram a truck through the residence. Hutchens was arrested in connection with two counts of battery in the third degree and one count of sexual solicitation.

11:01 a.m. Police responded to an intrusion alarm at the Bella Vista Presbyterian Church on Forest Hills Blvd. and discovered the alarm was caused by a worker moving things around.

Saturday, May 5

11:39 a.m. Someone reportedly swerved into an Overton Drive resident's yard in an alleged attempt to hit a dog.

12:50 p.m. Kids were reportedly on the bluffs overlooking Sugar Creek near the Bella Vista Animal Shelter throwing large rocks at people who were floating the creek.

8:58 p.m. Police received a report of gunshots heard near Spurlock Lane.

Sunday, May 7

12:45 a.m. Police arrested Makala Pippin, 22, during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 71 in connection with speeding and driving on a suspended license related to a prior driving while intoxicated charge.

2:10 p.m. A black pit bull with puppies was reported to have been dumped near the Casey's General Store on Riordan Road.
