Thank you

On behalf of myself, the other members of the Veterans' Council of Northwest Arkansas and all the veterans (and their families) whose names appear on the Veterans' Wall of Honor, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the support we received at our recent Memorial Day concert at the Wall.

Considering the heat that evening, and the presence of another concert just a short distance away, we were not sure how many would be in attendance. So imagine our surprise when an estimated 300 people set up their lawn chairs.

There are a number of people who need to be recognized for pulling this event together and making it a true success.

First, I wish to thank the other members of the Veterans' Council for their hard work in setting up chairs, providing security for the area while the band was treated to dinner at JJ's, to JJ's for accommodating our group of 10, to Braum's in Bentonville for their donation of individual ice cream cups, and especially to all of those who came out that night for the show.

And to the band, the Starlifters out of Scott AFB, Ill., thank you. Wow! What a show!

Those young men and women not only entertained us, they made us proud of all our men and women in uniform. We hope there will be another opportunity to showcase this talented band in the near future.

This concert was just the beginning of programs and events that we are planning for the Wall of Honor in the coming months. To keep abreast of what we are doing, visit us at www.vetwallofhonor.org.
