Nebraska Club
The Nebraska Club of Bella Vista will hold a summer barbecue Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Kingsdale Pavilion. This event is open to anyone who has lived in Nebraska; club membership is not required.
The event will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
The cost is $11 per person for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Reservations should be sent to K.B. and Sue Smith, 9 Windsor Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72715. The deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Civil War
Roundtable
The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Old Store annex of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave., in Springdale. Kim Nazario will present a program on the Battle of Prairie Grove and will distribute copies of his paper on the battle.

NWA Genealogical Society
The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, July 28, at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 S. Main. Bruce Hawkins will present a program about Family Search indexing, which has more than 1 billion records that are freely searchable online. Call 479-271-6820 for further information. Retired Nurses
of NWA
The Retired Nurses of Northwest Arkansas will meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the Community Room at the new Mercy Clinic Bella Vista, 1 Mercy Way.
An optional lunch may be purchased at Callaghan's Café in the lobby and taken into the Community Room. At noon, guest speaker Todd Whatley, certified elder law attorney, will share his knowledge of the new nursing home law changes that took effect this year.

Quilt Guild
The guild will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, in the sanctuary at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive. There will be no social hour.
Candy Hargrove will be the speaker. Her lecture is titled "Improving Piecing Accuracy." The vendor will be Sager Creek Quilts & Yarn works of Siloam Springs. Show-and-tell will follow a brief business meeting.
