First United Methodist Church

Sunday, Oct. 7, First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista will host its annual Wesley Series concert. This year, three accomplished musicians -- Helena Aung, Uriel Pascucci and Andrew Stephens -- will perform works from Ravel, Beethoven, Bach, Davis, Albéniz, Debussy and Liszt at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Bella Vista Community Church

BVCC's Women's Bible Study, a seven-week series titled, Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn't Make Sense, by Jennifer Rothschild, begins on Thursday, Oct. 4, in Room 8-9. There are two Thursday sessions to choose from: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $13. Please call the church office to sign up.

Unity of the Ozarks

The community is invited to Wednesday night meditation class, 7 to 8:30 p.m. weekly. This class explores a variety of meditation techniques. On Sept 19, the Rev. Elise Cowan teaches Unity's 5-Step Meditation and Relaxation. Sept 26, Kelly McDowell presents Energy Fields Meditations to Find Your Dualistic Beliefs.

"Enjoy the Journey," with lifelong musician Mike Cleary, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. This is an evening of positive affirmation messages and original songs to help see the good in past experiences and more fully enjoy life.

Movie night is at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, with part one of the two-part "Out on a Limb" with Shirley MacLaine.

Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

The Highland Christian Church "Indoor Sale" starts Thursday, Sept. 20, and goes through Saturday, Sept. 22. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. There is a large selection of Christmas decor, crafts, household items, art, etc.

All are invited to join Vivian Keller for Bible study, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 25, and every Wednesday following, at 10 a.m. This study begins with Paul's letter to the Colossians.

Highland Christian will sponsor a booth at the Senior Expo Health Fair, hosted by Village House, at Riordan Hall on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"James Garrett and Friends," voted Best Morning Show in Branson for several years running, will bring the music of Glen Campbell to Highland Christian Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Tickets may be purchased at the church for $20 for the two-and-a-half-hour show. For more information, call Alice Zelahy at 479-721-5438.

Village Bible Church

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 19. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries.

Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "Sufficiency In Christ." This Sunday's sermon is titled "A Study in Colossians -- Part 3" with a text of Colossians 1:24-2:5.

The White Cross Women's Mission ministry and the ladies' KniTTogether ministry will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25. The ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in our area, as well as a hospital in Congo. Any ladies from the community are welcome to come and learn more about these ministries.

Unitarian Universalists

Sunday, Sept. 23, "Groups will respond to Change," September's topic, will be a discussion of a talk written by Kimberley Debus, community minister of the arts and worship, Round Lake, N.Y., titled "Transmogrified."

Bella Vista Assembly of God

Bella Vista Assembly of God will host the third annual NWA Christian Fellowship Trap Shoot and BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Bella Vista Trap and Skeet Range, 16301 Rocky Dell Hollow Road in Gravette. This year, there will be an adult division (ages 19 and older) and a youth division (ages 18 and younger), and teams will consist of three members. Churches are encouraged to send more than one team, and all first-time shooters are invited. Event sign-in and registration begins at 8 a.m. The cost to register is $35 per person to include coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, range fees and ammunition, and a catered barbecue lunch by Rhythm & Q. Early registration forms and fees may be mailed to or dropped off at the BVAG church office no later than Thursday, Sept. 19. Bella Vista Lutheran Church

GriefShare is a support group for those that have lost a loved one. It meets on Thursdays at 3 p.m. in the church library and will continue every Thursday until the week before Thanksgiving.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. It is in need of jelly, sugar-free Jello, healthy cereals and 12-count egg cartons. It is also collecting the barcodes of "Best Buy" products. A container for donations is in the church narthex.

On Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a Senior Safety Academy at Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd. This is a free event. There will be informative seminars on topics such as identity theft, local scams, elder abuse, Medicare fraud, prescription drug safety and more. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided to registered attendees. Please register to ensure a spot by calling the church at 479-855-0272.

Highlands United Methodist Church

Highlands United Methodist Church, 371 Glasgow Road, will host a CBCO blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26.Each donation will be awarded LifePoints as a part of CBCO's donor rewards program. LifePoints may be redeemed online for a variety of gift cards, or points may be assigned to other meaningful causes or charities. To be eligible to give blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and present a valid photo ID.
