Bella Vista Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of the suspect in the Walgreens burglary on June 18.

The affidavit of probable cause requests a warrant for the arrest of Patrick Glavin, 41, of Texas, in connection with commercial burglary, possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized use of another person's property to facilitate certain crimes and an enhancement for committing a crime in proximity to certain facilities, all felonies, as well as misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Police responded to a report of an incident at Walgreens in Bella Vista after a man wearing a hat and surgical mask approached the pharmacy and held up a note that said "no alarms, no phones, 2-3 bottles of oxycodone."

The Bentonville Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Office collaborated with Bella Vista police, but officers were unable to locate the suspect that day.

Lt. Byron Stival received a call June 19 from a representative from the Walgreens' corporate office, who had reviewed the video from the Bella Vista location and informed Stival there had been similar incidents in Houston, Texas, with someone matching the same description.

Stival contacted the Houston Police Department and officials provided copies of video surveillance and reports from several incidents in their city, along with Dayton, Texas, and Baytown, Texas. Police in Houston notified Stival that Glavin also had felony warrants for similar crimes out of its department, Stival said.

Police located Glavin's family member in Bella Vista. Stival went to the residence June 21 and located Glavin and the family member in the driveway of the residence, along with a truck matching the description from the incident at Walgreens. Glavin allegedly lied to police about his identity and was arrested then for obstruction of justice and on his warrants out of Houston.

Glavin was extradited to Texas. On Aug. 10, Stival was notified by Houston Police detectives that Glavin had pleaded guilty to burglaries in Houston, and was then released, after which he committed two more similar crimes that night. On Aug. 21, Glavin committed a burglary in Conroe, Texas, where he was arrested after a six-mile pursuit with police. He also was served with warrants from multiple Texas agencies.

Stival said Bella Vista police were able to review information following this arrest and had enough probable cause to obtain a warrant for his arrest in connection with the Walgreens incident.

Glavin is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail in Texas and will be extradited when court cases in Texas are complete.
