Max D. Bozarth

Dr. Max D. Bozarth, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Aug. 25, 2018.

He was born to Roy and Rachel Bozarth in Clinton, Ind. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1945 and served two and a half years in the U.S. Navy. He earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University, a master's degree from Ball State University and a doctorate from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, and spent his career working University Audiology professorships and directorships before opening a private practice from 1976 to 1995.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn; daughter, Elizabeth of Minneapolis; and son, Bradford of Phoenix, Ariz.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Bella Vista Community Church with Dr. Anna Teel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bella Vista Community Church Scholarship Fund, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72714.

Peggy A. Newman

Peggy A. Newman, 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, Aug.18, 2018, from complications following a heart attack.

She was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Kewanee, Ill. After high school graduation in Toulon, Ill., she attended the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago and modeled in the Chicago area before moving to Los Angeles, where she worked for an insurance agent selling to Hollywood stars. She took up hostessing at celebrity events and met some of the top stars of the era: Gene Autry, Bob Hope, Mel Blanc, Don Knots, George Burns and Johnny Carson. She dated actor and producer Henry Wilcoxon until his death in the early 1970s. She moved to Bella Vista in 1990 and put her hostess skills to work by helping with the Phillips Classic events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Delores Huffman; and brother, Don Newman.

Interment will be at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills. There will not be a memorial service, but anyone wishing to make a memorial donation can send it to the Shambala Preserve, 6867 Soledad Canyon Road, Acton, CA 93510.
