Unity Church of the Ozarks

Guest speaker, the Rev Edie Skalitzky, will present "In the Flow of Life" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct 21.

Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

Pastor Paul Seal will share the theme, "Renewal in Service and Song," during the month of October. Sunday, Oct. 21, is titled "The Music of Our Lives" with text content of 2 Corinthians 5: 11-19.

Highland Christian Church is seeking new talent to join the choir. Rehearsal is every Wednesday at 4 p.m. All singers are welcome.

Young at Heart Singles will meet for dinner and fun at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. For more information, contact Carolyn Walker at 479-855-3375.

Village Bible Church

Wednesday, Oct. 17, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of our friendly volunteers.

Pastor Mark Voll will continue his sermon series titled "Sufficiency In Christ." The sermon title this Sunday is "A Study in Colossians -- Part 7" with a text of Colossians 3:18-4:1.

Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista

The Women's Book Club's next meeting is at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the church parlor. This club is unique in that everyone chooses a book around a theme, rather than reading the same book. This month's theme is to read a book from the PBS Great American Read list. All Bella Vista readers are welcome.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. With the holidays approaching, it is asking for 16-ounce cans of pumpkin, 14-ounce cans of condensed milk and 14-ounce cans of cranberry sauce. It is also collecting "Best Choice" PVC labels. Containers for donations are in the church narthex.

GriefShare is a program for those that have lost a loved one. It meets at 3 p.m. every Thursday in the church library.

The Inquirer's Class is offered at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. This class gives people an opportunity to learn about the church, how it operates and the Lutheran doctrine.

First United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Men will host the annual Pancake Day from 6 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the United Methodist Church at 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. Pancakes, ham or sausage, applesauce, coffee and milk are offered for $6 per person (children 5 and younger are free). All proceeds support the local mission ministries of the United Methodist Men organization.

Highlands Church

Highlands Church will host a GriefShare class beginning Oct. 25. GriefShare is a grief recovery support group to find help and healing for the hurt of losing a loved one. The community is welcome to join from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays in the Matthew Classroom for a 13-week session. Contact John Barth at 479-381-0516 to sign up or ask any questions.

Trunk or Treat will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. The front parking lot of Highlands Church will be packed with decorated trunks, games, a photo booth and candy. Costumes are encouraged. This is a free event for the community. Call 479-855-2277 with any questions.

Saturday, Dec. 1, the doors will open at 8 a.m. (until 11 a.m.) for the 30th Annual Cookie Walk at Highlands Church in Bella Vista. While waiting for your cookie walk number to be called, enjoy homemade cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, muffins and more. There will also be a Sweet Shoppe, Craft Shoppe and Soups-to-Go. When the time for your walk, you will receive a container to fill with dozens of homemade cookies that will be wrapped in a drawstring bag after filled. Cost per can is $12.

Bella Vista Community Church

BVCC will host the A-MAZE-ING Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Navigate through a maze of exciting themed trunks. There will be plenty of candy along the way.

Christmas Tea tickets will be available to the public on Thursday, Nov. 1. Cost is $10. The Saturday, Dec. 1, tea seatings are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with entertainment by BVCC's Sanctuary Choir at 2 p.m.

Unitarian Universalists

Sunday, Oct. 21: "Persistent or Resistant, or Just Plain Stubborn," a talk written by Rev. Sue Browning, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Easton, Md., will be delivered by Julie Jensen.
