Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at 7 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Johnny Eubanks will be calling. There will be a workshop at 6:30 p.m. before the dance. For information, contact Bill Allen at 479-876-5066.

Kansas Sunflower Club

The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, at the Highland Christian Church at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. This month the group will play bingo, and each attendee should bring one bingo prize. There will be $3 pizza and drinks, and each attendee should bring a potluck salad, vegetable or dessert. All former Kansas residents are welcome to these meetings. The club is meeting one week early this month due to Memorial Day on the fourth Monday. There are no dues. Contact Charles at 479-855-3894 for more information.

Ozark Hill Hikers

The Ozark Hill Hikers welcome all to a 5k or 10k paved walk through woods and neighborhoods in Siloam Springs on Wednesday, May 23. Meet at the Phillips 66 located at 1295 N. Mt. Olive in Siloam Springs between 9 to 9:30 a.m. The walk begins at 9:30 at Bob Henry Park. NAGS

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Bentonville Public Library located at 405 South Main in Bentonville. Erin Rowe, chef and author, will present a program on Ozark culinary history. For more information, call 479-271-6820. The public is welcome to attend.

Sunrise Rotary Club

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club has a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. every Wednesday in the Concordia Main Building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista. Guests are welcome. For more information, call Sean at 417-455-6654.

NWA Coin Club

The Northwest Arkansas Coin Club meets at 6:30 p.m., monthly, on the third Tuesday of each month at the Embassy Suites hotel in Rogers. Meet other collectors and enjoy educational presentations on coins and collecting. The meetings are open to the public and all ages are welcome. The educational presentation for May will be on "coin grading." The club is currently planning it third annual coin show for three days, Friday through Sunday, July 6 through 8. Kiwanis Club

Club weekly meetings are held at 7 a.m. every Thursday at Concordia Retirement Center. Breakfast is available. Visitors, Kiwanis members and former Kiwanis members are all invited to attend.

Calico Cut-Ups

The May meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 21, and it will be a birthday party. Everyone has a birthday, and Calico Cut-Ups will celebrate all of them. Birthday cake and ice cream will be served at 11:30 a.m. before the 1 p.m. speaker, Betty O'Neill, with a presentation called "A New Quilter's Lament." She has been quilting many years and has many stories and quilts to share. Betty has generously decided to give many of her unfinished quilt tops and some kits to the guild. There will be a silent auction on this day for those items. All of the money will be donated to the guild or to a part of the guild that you designate, such as our scholarship fund, Quilts of Valor, donation quilts, etc. Everyone is invited.

Calico Cut-Ups is a quilt guild of Bella Vista. It is an informational meeting for all levels of quilters, beginners to expert. Attending the guild is a good way to begin quilting or increase your knowledge of quilting and a good way to meet new people. The guild usually meets the fourth Monday of each month at the First United Methodist Church located at 20 Boyce Dr. in Bella Vista. The meeting begins at 1 p.m., and sometimes there is a workshop before the meeting. There is a $5 fee that helps pay for the speaker. That can be applied to a $25 yearly fee if you become a guild member. For more information, email [email protected]

Bella Vista Bluebird Society

The Bella Vista Bluebird Society will host its annual public meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Bella Vista Public Library. This is a good opportunity to learn about the BVBBS, learn how to monitor a bluebird box, and see nests and eggs of bluebirds and other birds that use the boxes. Refreshments will be served. Bella Vista Garden Club

The Bella Vista Garden Club will host the 2018 Garden Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Simple Pleasures, 13718 Rothbury Drive in Bella Vista. This event is held in cooperation with the city of Bella Vista and the Bella Vista POA and will feature local artists, music, delicious appetizers, wine, raffles, a silent auction and much more. Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club holds its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista. The program focuses on competitive radio operating and its benefits for public service and emergency communications. For anyone interested in acquiring an amateur radio license, the club also administers FCC exams at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. All meetings and exams are held at Highland Christian Church, located at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. (Hwy. 279), in Bella Vista. Laureate Alpha Gamma

The Laureate Alpha Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 9, at the home of Linda Dahlquist with Katie Holloway, acting as co-hostess. A short business meeting was held, then it was "revealing day" for secret sisters and gifts were passed around. New secret sister names were drawn for the coming year. Sister-to-sister groups made plans for their May/June get-togethers. This was the last meeting of the year, with meetings starting up again in August.

Bella Vista Strings

Bella Vista Strings is a casual acoustic jam group that meets at 1 p.m. every Friday at the Artist Retreat Center. Those who enjoy playing different styles of music are invited to visit and consider joining the BV Strings. The group plays rock, folk, bluegrass and country. The music is submitted by members. American Legion Riders

If motorcycles, fellowship with patriotic persons, veterans or family members of a veteran and the thrill of the ride sounds like enjoyment, then The American Legion Riders is for you. The American Legion Riders are associated with Bella Vista Post 341 and have monthly meetings on the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Bella Vista American Legion facility. If the weather allows, a ride follows and ends at a restaurant for a meal.

Bella Vista Traveling Sams

The next few outings for the Bella Vista Traveling Sams are May 9-12, Roaring River State Park in Missouri; June 14-17, Withrow Springs State Park; Sept. 20-23, Area 1 Friendship in Grove; and Oct. 28-31, Devil's Den State Park. Fly Tyers Club

The Fly Tyers Club meets at 9 a.m. every Thursday at Riordan Hall for a social hour followed by meeting from 10 to 11 a.m. The club is a fishing, conservation and service organization with approximately 150 members. This group of men and women share a common interest in fishing for both warm- and cold-water species found in the local streams and lakes of Bella Vista. The club also promotes lake conservation, recreational activities and conducts service projects throughout northwest Arkansas.

Woodcarvers Club

The Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club invites new members. Member carvers hold varying levels of carving skills from beginner to master-skilled and are willing to teach at no cost. The club also offers classes from time to time. There are several women members who work with pyrography (wood burning) as well as carving, and one member works with chain-saw carving. The Woodcarvers Club teaches soap carving classes to young children in the area. The club meets at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista from 1 to 3 p.m. every Thursday. Village Writers and Poets Club

The Village Lake Writers and Poets, a local writers group, meets from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the second Wednesday of every month at the Artist Retreat Center located at 13467 Lookout Drive in Old Bella Vista. BV Decorative Artists Chapter

The Bella Vista Decorative Artists Chapter meets a 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month for a business meeting and painting session at Wishing Spring Studio (8862 West McNelly Road -- next to Walgreens). The purpose of the chapter is to stimulate interest and appreciation for the art of painting. BVDA does a variety of service projects. This year's projects include working with the Village House in Bella Vista and Memory Boxes for local hospitals. Each month BVDA has a chapter member or a visiting national artist teach an art project in acrylics, oils, watercolor or mixed mediums. Painters of all skill levels make up the BVDA Chapter. Perfect Harmony Women's Barbershop Chorus

Perfect Harmony Women's Barbershop Chorus meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. every Monday in the choir room of the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista. Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus

Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus meets at 7 p.m. every Thursday at Bella Vista Church of Christ, 989 McNelly Road, Bentonville (across from Lowes). Singing in harmony, a Cappella, is this group's enjoyment and is open to all men who like to sing. Vocal music experience is helpful. Women's Chorus

The Women's Chorus invites singers from the tri-county area to join the chorus. All are welcome, with no tryouts or experience needed. The chorus performs classical, pop, folk and show tunes for local clubs and events. Rehearsals are Mondays at 12:45 p.m. in the music room of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church.
