s The last fish fry sponsored by the Knights of Columbus will be held on Friday, March 23, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. The social hall opens at 5 p.m. and the serving begins at 6 p.m. This is the last of three Lenten fish fries sponsored by the Knights of Columbus this year, marking year 26. Everyone is welcome, with a cost of $10 per person. Tickets are necessary and may be purchased from St. Bernard's church office at 1 Saint Bernard Lane or call 479-855-9069.

March 24

s James Graves, chief of the Bella Vista Police Department, will speak on "Church Security" at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 24. The entire community, both men and women, are invited to attend this event open to the public. There will be coffee and light refreshments, door prizes, and there is no admission fee. Chief Graves will discuss the issue of security at churches, as well as other areas of responsibility impacting his police force. The event is sponsored by the Bella Vista Men for Christ. To plan properly, those planning to attend are asked to call the Community Church with their names and the number of persons planning to attend at 479-855-1126.

March 26-April 6

s Republic Services will offer a spring appliance pickup free of charge to Bella Vista residents with accounts in good standing during the week of April 9. Residents should call the Bella Vista City Hall to sign up. Sign-ups will be accepted starting Monday, March 26, through Friday, April 6. Items should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. Monday, April 9, regardless of individual pickup days. Depending on the number of participants, pickup could take a few days. Refrigerators or other items that use Freon will be accepted only if the Freon has been professionally evacuated and tagged. Call 479-876-1255, opt. 1, to sign up or with any questions.

April 3

s Andante Music Club of Bella Vista invites the public to a free organ concert featuring Andante Club organists Gloria Grilk and Marilyn Lee. The performance will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, at Central United Methodist Church, located at 2535 West New Hope Road in Rogers.

April 15

s Bella Vista Farmer's Market opens for the 2018 market season. The market will be in a new location at Sugar Creek Center parking lot, just north of U.S. 71 and Mercy Way. The Bella Vista Farmers Market is one of few markets in the northwest Arkansas area that operates on Sunday. The outdoor market promotes health and wellness to the community while supporting local farmers, crafters and small businesses.

April 19

s The Bella Vista Fly Tyers Club will hold a sporting sale the morning of April 19, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. The sale hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monies raised from the sale will be used for improvements to the lakes within Bella Vista. Donations of used or new sporting goods (all types, not just fishing) will gladly be accepted. The Fly Tyers will pick up your donations or you can deliver them to Tom Diepenbrock (636-443-3325). Donations are kindly requested before April 12.

April 26-27

s Duets in Bloom -- when Art becomes Nature and Nature becomes Art. View unique floral designs interpreting works of art by local artists. Opening Thursday, April 26, at noon through 3 p.m. on Friday, April 27, in the newly remodeled Bella Vista Country Club, 98 Club House Drive, Bella Vista. Admission is free and all sales benefit community education projects by Floralia Arranger's Guild Garden Club. Delicious food and drink specials will be available throughout the event. April 27-28

s The city of Bella Vista is sponsoring a city-wide garage sale April 27 and 28, with a rain date scheduled May 4 and 5. The city will partner with Bella Vista Neighbors, which runs a neighborhood program and website, to provide an online map of garage sales to help shoppers locate sales. More information for those interested in submitting their address for listing on this map will be available closer to the sale date.
