Farmers Market returning, moving

The Bella Vista Farmers Market is returning Sunday, April 15, though it will be sitting in a different spot.

Market coordinator Samantha Mosher said the market will be in the Sugar Creek Plaza parking lot, closer to the south end near the movie theater. This location, she said, should be easier to see and easier to get in and out of compared to the Mercy Bella Vista parking lot.

"We're hoping that's going to allow more visibility," she said.

Currently, she said, between 20 and 25 vendors, including new vendors and some returning from last year, have applied and there are more spots available. In particular, she said, the market could benefit from food trucks and more fresh produce growers.

One change this year, she said, is the fee structure. The market has been split into three seasons, she said, and vendors may pay fees for a single season -- either spring, summer or fall -- or pay for the entire year with the market. This should help sellers who have seasonal produce or other goods, she said, or who simply want to sell at the market for a shorter span of time.

The market would also be interested in bringing in more local musicians, she said.

Further updates, she said, can be seen on the market's social media channels. Mosher can be contacted at [email protected].

Mosher said she expects the season to go well and she hopes to see the market grow more this year.

"I'm just ready to get the season going," she said.
