The Weekly Vista and McDonald County Press are moving into a new office space at 13026 Frontage Road this week.

Rusty Turner, editor with the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, explained that, while there have been no issues with the office space in Town Center West where the Vista has been since 1985, this facility will allow the news office and distribution to share a single building.

"We had the opportunity to combine our business office and our circulation," he said. "That made sense for us."

The new location also provides increased visibility, he said, because it sits right off U.S. Highway 71, just south of its intersection with Benton County Road 40. It is generally easier for people to find and access, he said.

It's also a more spacious office, he said.

"I think it's going to be good for our newspapers and good for our customers," Turner said.

Additionally, Turner explained, this building features several offices that can be leased, which creates additional opportunities for the company.

Company President Todd Nelson explained that 12 offices will be available for rent starting at $400 per month and will be fully furnished and include internet access, fax, copying, printing, cleaning, a break room, deck and shared conference space. This business venture will be called NWA Shared Office Space, he said.

"It will be a nice improvement," Nelson said.

Terri O'Byrne, office manager for The Weekly Vista, has been guiding the move and will be the point of contact for any parties interested in renting office spaces. She can be reached via email at [email protected].

O'Byrne said that, while the new office will have plenty of space, she's going to miss the large window next to her desk that gives a view into the woods and a good look at the critters that survive and play just outside the building.

"We'll miss the squirrel antics," she said.
