Everything you don't know about golf financials

n A presentation on the changing paradigm for Bella Vista set.

Staff Reports

Bella Vista residents John and Susan Nuttal will host a presentation on "The Changing Paradigm For Bella Vista" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Riordan Hall.

The presentation is an overview of the changing dynamics of amenities in the POA with a focus on Golf Financials. John Nuttall, former POA Board Member, will present topics that include trends for costs, revenue and rounds for Bella Vista Golf Courses. A deep dive into 2017 Golf financials and some considerations for business decisions are explained. The focus is on a logical review of the facts and does not provide specific recommendations.

Have you wondered how many people in Bella Vista play golf? How much do they play? Where are we today? Why are we talking about closing courses? The goal of the presentation is to start an informed public conversation, where the community can understand and contribute to decisions facing the POA about golf and other amenities. You will probably hear facts that support your current thinking, and some new information that may cause you to reconsider your position.

The presentation touches on recreation usage trends in Bella Vista and how these trends could affect golf decisions. Factors that need to be considered such as costs, pricing, discounts and the assessment contribution will be discussed.

Whether you are a golfer or not, golf accounts for over 25 percent of the POA's budget. The public is welcome to an informative hour to learn how golf fits into the contemporary vision of Bella Vista as a Recreational Community for all members. The presentation is not sponsored by the POA Board or management.
