The library is expanding

n Summer reading program begins today.

Let's kick it off. Join us to officially kick off the Bella Vista Library 2018 Summer Reading Program with a celebration from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 13, at the Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista.

The theme of this year's program is "Libraries Rock!" and we are no strangers to a rockin' good time. Come for a morning full of free snow cones, face painting, a bounce house and the Scott Family Amazeum.

Participants can register for the Summer Reading Program at the event, as well as pick up a special registration prize. For all who attend, we will offer raffle tickets to the Artosphere Festival Orchestra at the Walton Arts Center.

This program is not just for kids, but readers of all ages, and will run from Wednesday, June 13, to Wednesday, July 18. During that time, the library will offer events for all ages, from preschool-aged children to adults. The program is a way to encourage everyone to take some time to read.

Did you know? We can hardly contain ourselves -- the library is expanding!

Come to this event and you'll see why we can't wait to get a new, large meeting and event space. We will be able to host events, as we do regularly, without interrupting day-to-day library users. Fundraising efforts have been going strong, led by the Bella Vista Foundation, and word is we will be breaking ground sooner than later.

Exercise your mind this summer and keep in touch with your community. The weekly events are free, fun and educational for the whole family. For more information, drop by or call the library at 479-855-1753.
