Margaret Jean Brak

Margaret Jean Brak, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark., died at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark., June 4, 2018.

She was born April 26, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Rudolph Brak and Stephanie Cmarik Brak. She was raised in Chicago and in 1948 she graduated as a registered nurse alongside her twin sister Helen from Little Company of Mary in Illinois. She never married. Her career spanned many decades. She retired in the 1990s and in 2012 moved to Bella Vista

She was preceded in death by her parents; and all of her siblings, Stephen, Rudy, Ann, Mary Alice, Helen and Lucinda.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1 St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, AR 72715, with Father Barnabas Maria-Susai officiating.

Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.

Virginia Ruth Hisel

Virginia Ruth Hisel, 96, of Bella Vista, Ark., died July 1, 2018, at Highland Health & Rehab.

She was born March 16, 1922, in Leesburg, Ga., to Grady Alexander Sikes and Margaret Shaver Sikes. At retirement, Virginia and Roy moved from Atlanta to Bella Vista. She enjoyed water aerobics, The Sophisticated Ladies tap dance group, the New Beginning senior's group, the Blue Bird Society and playing golf.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy C. Hisel; her sister, Willie Beasley; her brothers, Grady Jack Sykes, James Lealand Sikes and Raymond "Buddy" Crocker Sikes.

No services are planned. Burial will be in the VA Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

Memorials may be directed to Bella Vista Courtesy Van, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd, #120, Bella Vista, AR 72715, a local, nonprofit organization whose transport services assisted Virginia in her later years.

Phyllis Jean Kerr

Phyllis Jean Kerr of Bella Vista, Ark., 81, died June 20, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

She was born in Litchfield, Minn., April 8, 1937, to the late Arnold and Laura Klein. Her husband Doug retired in 1985 and they moved from St. Cloud, Minn., to Bella Vista, Ark. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, roller skating, snowmobiling, painting, traveling and swimming in the lake with her friends. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Douglas Kerr; daughter, Katherine; and sisters, Tulida Blackford and Laurine (Rollin) Nelson.

Survivors include six children, Lynne' Ellis of Brainerd, Minn., Cheryl (Mark) Osborn of Cyrus, Minn., Brian (Annette) Kerr of Prior Lake, Minn., Gary (Alicia) Kerr of Bentonville, Ark., Bethany Kerr of Bella Vista, and Bruce (Tonia) Kerr of Bella Vista; brothers, Alan Klein and Phillip (Shirley) Klein of Minn; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Bella Vista Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, July 12, 2018. A lunch will follow at the Metfield Clubhouse in Bella Vista.

Daniel Luther Lovaas

Daniel Luther Lovaas, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark. died peacefully Thursday, June 28, 2018, at home.

He was born June 17, 1927, in Taylor, Wis., to Grace and Olaus Lovaas. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a finish carpenter in the construction business.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Orren, Henry and Paul.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice; daughters, Patricia, Linda, LeAnn (Joe) Cisneros and Kathy; son, Bradley; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista.

Memorials may be given to the United Lutheran Church.
