July 23 & 24

s The POA will hold public meetings regarding a study relating to a proposed community center. This study was completed by architectural firm Hastings and Chivetta, which specializes in large community centers, along with the POA. There will be two meetings which the public is encouraged to attend, both at Riordan Hall. The first will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 23, and the second will be held at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 24.

July 26

s Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about one another. Village Baptist Church, 380 Glasgow Road in Bella Vista, is the site for the next visit, from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26.

July 30

s Register today for the last 2018 Junior Tennis Camp at Kingsdale Tennis, July 30 to Aug. 2. The camp is open to all players, ages 6-18, and for all levels of ability from beginners to tournament players. The camp runs Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes lunch and time at Kingsdale pool. The fee is $180 for POA members; $190 for guests.

Aug. 4

s The annual rummage sale at First United Methodist Church will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. Food and beverage will be available. All proceeds benefit local charities. For more information, contact 479-855-1158.

Aug. 7

s National Night Out with the Bella Vista Police Department -- a chance for the community to get to know BV law enforcement and officers to know you -- will be held between 5 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Riordan Hall, 2 Riordan Road in Bella Vista. Free food, games and more for the whole family are planned.

Aug. 11

s Bella Vista Business Association will host its first business bazaar, which is open to all Bella Vista Business Association members to sell and promote their businesses. The bazaar will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, and will be held at Riordan Hall. Aug. 25

s Bella Vista Decorative Artists will host a Mad Hatter Card and Game Party from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, located at 1 Street Bernard Lane in Bella Vista. There will be an art decor store, door prizes and basket raffles. A table minimum of four players is required, and all cards and games are welcome. Proceeds from the event will be used to support service projects and art enhancements of Northwest Arkansas. The cost is $12 per person and includes lunch. Sept. 8

s The Bella Vista Welcome "Meet and Greet" for new residents and renters who have moved here in the past six to nine months will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Bella Vista Country Club, located at 98 Club House Drive in Bella Vista. The goal of this event is to introduce newcomers to the many amenities offered by the POA, as well as to meet Tom Judson, COO of the POA, and Peter Christy, mayor of Bella Vista. Sept. 11

s Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about one another. Chaplin Jim Beckwith will discuss the pressures and dangers facing law enforcement today, and Chief James Graves will be available to answer any questions. Village House of Bella Vista is the site for this visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Oct. 9

s Bella Vista Police Department and the Benton County S.A.L.T. Council (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) present the free 2018 Senior Safety Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. Join them for breakfast, starting at 8 a.m. Please call to register at 479-855-0272.
