Bella Vista/Bentonville Photography Club

"How to Photograph Fireworks" was the subject of the BVPC's June 19 meeting in preparation for photographing local fireworks displays. President Douglas Keck presented the program highlighting the following suggested points: use a tripod and shutter release, pick your spot and set focus before it gets dark and then set focus to manual, add a background for interest, set ISO at 100 with a f-stop around F8 and using the "bulb mode" setting for shutter speed, hold the shutter release at the start of and during the burst and let go as the display starts to fade away.

June's monthly contest was "Water: Beat the Heat." Toni Hyde won first place with her photograph of kids behind the waterfall at Tanyard Creek. Becky Brubaker won second place and Sharron Kerr won third place.
