Letter to the Editor

Editor,

Would it be possible to kill the Spanker Creek Bridge project? The bridge, as it now is, does not appear to be a problem for the many people that cross it every day. There is pavement sloping onto and off the concrete center section of the bridge, and it has made the transition so that most people don't slow down anymore to cross it, or they slow down a little. They are slowing down for the stop sign to get onto County Road 40 anyway if they are headed south. It really isn't an inconvenience anymore.

The inconvenience that will be caused by the construction of the bridge over several months greatly outweighs the one or a few days that the bridge might be flooded every year or two. Freeing up the expense of the bridge would also make money available for other projects which might be more helpful to the county.
